My only complaint (and it's a big one) is the stationary stools at the majority of the tables. They are so uncomfortable for my auto-immune compromised and physically challenged companions. There are only two tables (that I have seen) that are equipped with high-back benches and high-back chairs but those are always in high demand and it's difficult when they are already in use and not available. We have had to convert our meals to to-go in the past when we really wanted to sit and enjoy an evening out with friends and family.
Y'all have THE BEST BBQ AND SIDES in the Metroplex but for BBQ in (somewhat) comfort we have to go down the highway to Rudy's. (Their metal chairs are not comfortable but they have backs and are not stationary.)

This place is fantastic and Cindy the bartender is awesome. The beer is super cold and cheap and the food is great.

The only problem I had was chasing down the bartender. Bartender was the manager and he was very busy

Our family enjoy going out for dinner at Hard Eight bbq in Burleson. They have been charging $15.88+tax for Sirloin 1/2 for months which is suppose to be $13. We asked them why they charge more than they should. They said the food weighs more than 1/2.
This has been happening all the time we go. Tonight we went to that restaurant for special accasion. They charged $15.88+tax again instead of $13.
We decided not going to Hard 8 bbq anymore.
A little manipulation builds up disappointment.

We gathered a group of foreign exchange students and their families tonight for a Welcome to Texas dinner at the Hard Eight in Burleson. We were outside waiting for everyone and Marcell came to check on us, welcome us, and offer us a cold drink while waiting. Once everyone arrived, Marcell took our group and gave us a rundown on how to order. He showed each member of our group inside and was so very friendly. The manager, Tina, was amazing as well! We all were checked on several times to make sure we were okay. The entire experience was incredible and Marcell went above and beyond.

Good food, directions for newbies, and self service veggies & drinks with free beans on our first trip was what we found. Having to walk through a hot / un-air conditioned initial food service for meat(s) selection is not my idea of a superior dining experience.

worst bbq in the area. Tried it 5 times. All months apart. Panther city down 35 like 15 minutes is way better and worth the drive but today was Monday and i wanted to try their baloney sandwich jalapeño sausage turkey and brisket. All trash

Basic inner city bar b q That can be found at any city in America , no flavor, the truck stopped in Alvarado for semi trucks has the best barbecue I found in North Texas and we eat out a lot. I don’t know if it was just me, but this is very basic barbecue with no flavor. My wife and my kin folks came in from Louisiana and California and no one enjoyed it!

Nestled in the heart of Texas, Hard Eight BBQ is an absolute must-stop for anyone craving authentic, top-tier barbecue. Stepping into this legendary joint, you're immediately greeted by the mesmerizing aroma of smoke-kissed meats and the bustling energy of a true culinary institution. The experience is unique: you walk directly up to the massive pits, where a friendly pitmaster guides you through the mouth-watering selection.
The brisket is the undisputed star of the show. With a perfect bark and an incredibly juicy, tender interior, each slice practically melts in your mouth, leaving a rich, smoky flavor that lingers delightfully. The pork ribs are equally phenomenal—fall-off-the-bone tender with a sweet and savory rub that is simply addictive. Don't even think about skipping the jalapeño sausage; it's got a satisfying snap and just the right amount of spicy kick to keep you coming back for more.
Beyond the main attractions, the sides are anything but an afterthought. The mac and cheese is a creamy, cheesy masterpiece, and the pinto beans are packed with flavor. The fresh, tangy potato salad provides a perfect contrast to the rich meats. Adding to the laid-back, communal atmosphere, Hard Eight’s self-serve style, from slicing your own onions to grabbing your own bread, makes the entire meal feel like a genuine, Texas-sized feast. In short, Hard Eight BBQ isn't just a restaurant; it's an unforgettable culinary pilgrimage that defines what true Texas barbecue is all about.

Our first time going to hard eight and it was amazing! The food was great and I unfortunately didn’t get his name but there was a guy who was so helpful who cleared our tables when we were done. The only reason for 3 star is because Crystal charged us twice for a couple things. I didn’t notice this until I got home and saw the receipt and not sure if this is why but she was distracted talking to a coworker while she was charging us. Again, amazing food and atmosphere but just annoyed we got charged twice for a few things.

Marcell is sooo nice and helpful. He greeted us, cracked jokes with us, and made us feel welcomed. He gave the place a soulful touch. The food is already good but employees like Marcell take it to the top.
