This was an awesome little stop on my Texas roadtrip. My friend and I had the Bourbon Chicken and the potato skins. They were big, good portions packed with flavor! The candy shop was also really fun. I would definitely go here again.

Chicken fried steak was great. Mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries were good. Very busy with the train in town and our initial waitress forgot about us. Second waitress made up for that.

Freshly cooked food. Not the place if you're in a hurry. The chicken pot pie is wonderful. Sweet tea, just right. Baked Mac and cheese is the best!Parking: At lunch, parking is an issue due to being on the square across from the courthouse and with other businesses open. Evenings are no problem though.

They have my vote for the best chicken fried steak in Burnet County ! The large , so big that wife and I split and had to be rolled out to the car when meal was done.

Worst experience ever. I was beyond disappointed. They promoted a "valentines day" couples dinner. You had to make A reservation and put some down. Well I'm not sure why! They had walk ins and normal menus. We got sat down and no one came over. They gave us normal menus and I looked at my husband so confused! Someone finally took our drink order but it took the waitress 15 min just to come over. She didn't even know we were doing the "valentines dinner" once the food came, my steak was made wrong. I explained to the waitress and she left and NEVER came back. Like she didn't offer to remake make another. We ended up leaving hungry. This whole place is a bloody scam. Poorly ran. Terrible service and terrible food. Reading other disappointed comments on here and the owners ugly response is not how you run a business. Guess he/ she is the I'm right and everyone can screw off kind of person.Update responseIn your response I was not expecting a a white cloth evening. I was expecting a proper service. The non waitress yes got our drinks and then I waited longer for the waitress to even come by To even ask for our order. And then never came back once I mentioned the steak was prepared wrong. You got money, sir, the drinks and one salad that was consumed. It was a sloppy job period and a poor waitress. Plus they said all usually do just the vday event but this year was different. I simply said it would have been nice to be mentioned. Either way your waitress had no clue who was doing the special menu and who wasn't.. when u address the sloppy performance and my displease of the food you stood there and argued with me. Instead of offering an solution. Not once was it offered to be replaced or fixed. You literally stood there arguing. I had to tell you have a good day sir so you can stop arguing with me. And still here you are ARGUING SO LET ME REPEAT! NO OPTION TO REPLACING MY STEAK OR SUBSTITUTE IT WITH SOMETHING ELSE WAS EVER ASKED!
