Had such a great experience! Rochelle was so friendly and professional. She really made the whole thing enjoyable. Food was great! Recommend the charcuterie board! Plus live music! Nothing more to ask for! Totally recommend and will definitely be back!

Went last night. Chicken fried steak was served on an 8 inch plate. Impossible to eat because they are big. Ordered French fries, got mashed potatoes. Had to chase down the waitress/ manager to get another beer for a table of six. They need more staff on a Friday night.

The Chicken Picatta was not. Was in a cream sauce almost Alfredo like. Maybe 4 capers throughout. Chicken breast may have been cooked straight from frozen. It had that slightly rubbery texture.

I’ll go back but order something else.

The best hidden gem in Burnet. The atmosphere is fantastic. Great entertainment, savory menu and very friendly staff and owners. You can’t beat the scenery. It’s beautiful!

My experience with this restaurant is too lengthy to go into. At the end of the day, the management of this place needs help. I am just writing to warn new customers. This establishment tries very hard to seem like a high quality dining experience and that is unfortunately nowhere close to actuality. If you are looking to treat yourself to a nice fine dining experience and are thinking of trying this place, I believe you will be sadly disappointed. I paid well over 130 for 2 and wish I went to Whataburger instead. I feel kinda bad giving this review but that is a lot of money to pay for such a poor experience. This review is considering taste of food, atmosphere and service. A sad fail on all accounts.

My boss and I tried this place after reading the mixed reviews. We were excited about the surf and turf and the possibility of finding a decent place in the area to eat. Boy were we disappointed. We had a comically bad experience that I'm sure we'll be laughing about for years to come.

Walking in, The a/c seemed to be on the fritz, no one greeted us and the booths were dirty.

The waitress was really nice, and was very attentive but she didn't know and couldn't pronounce the beers and wines available and said the entire kitchen staff were confused about what balsamic vinaigrette was. We even had another server come by and complain to us about a large group that came in without notice.

The food was mediocre at best and not presented in an appealing fashion. Rare steaks came out medium and my boss's shrimp weren't all the way deveined. The calamari was heavily breaded and deep fried, looking more like onion rings.

There were lots more details that made this such a comically disastrous dinner, but it's too much to go into here.

Overall the quality of food, service and ambiance is not worth the prices they are asking. If you're looking for a nice place to dine, don't go here.

Frist time here after driving by for YEARS! Well worth the stop for sure. Wasn't crowded when walking in, so didn't know what to expect but it was easy better than we thought it would be.

It was actually pretty dang great! We got the ribs w/ mashed potatos, street tacos with the street corn and chicken parmesan with garlic bread. Every one of them were great and all cooked properly. We recommend this place and will be back for sure!

The Highlander. Iconic. By day, buffet. By night, dine in VanBrocklins bistro. New menu. New staff. Fresh welcome. Tucked away in the back of the building is pleasantly surprising quaint and fun place. Overlooking the riverwalk, the view is fantastic. There is usually live music on Fridays. If you don’t like live music, then it probably isn’t for you. Wednesday is usually karaoke night. Just a great place to get an amazing meal (might I add the hamburgers are fresh ground- steaks cooked to perfection and yum scrumptious melted butter that is accompanied by the snow crab legs…I digress) also great place to meet up with friends.

Date night! Unfortunately, we'd already eaten, but the plates (as big as my head!) looked and smelled amazing. "THE Legendary Old School Band" was playing this night, and what a great fun had by all. We two old farts managed to dance a couple. We'll be back; next time for food!

I had the ribeye dinner, which was pretty good. The steak was slightly over cooked, but not enough to matter. Sadly, the veggies were soggy and garlic mashed potatoes cold, so I'm giving them a little ding for that. Otherwise, I enjoyed it and will probably try this place again sometime.
