The bartender usually looks like she doesn't want to be there. But we were drinking the couple of times we were there so if course we made it fun. You can bring your own liquor, but remember to take your own shot glasses too. They let us bring our own karaoke system since it was my best friends birthday. It's nice that there's a restroom inside so we don't have to go all the way down the driveway anymore.
Sandy is a great lady to work with. We have camped at the Shanty for many years. Each time we are treated like family. The staff is attentive and do whatever they can to make sure our stay is as pleasant as possible.
I always come from Fort hood to canyon lake to Visit my sister and every time I visit I stop by and grab some beers and food from here. It has a great set up and very good environment. The staff is very friendly with good tasting and priced food. Plus a military discount I love this place.
