Any time I am in Canyon Lake, I stop here to get some great BBQ. So far I have had their ribs, sliced turkey, whole chicken, sliced brisket, and chocolate pecan pie. I have yet to try something here I did not like!! A must stop if you are in this neck of the woods!

I will say it's nice that Canyon lake has a legitimate barbecue spot. Not the best I've had in Central Texas but still pretty good.
It's definitely worth swinging in here if you're on River Road and need some good home-cooked BBQ.
I do kind of like the ambiance just has a backwood field to it that matches River Road ?

To start the mandatory ID to order food is ridiculous I’ve never been to a restaurant that has a policy of the sorts. Secondly the food was extremely disappointing. The meat on the ribs wouldn’t even come off the bone. The ribs were dry and literally STUCK on the bone. Had to throw the ribs away in the end because they were not edible. Customer service could be friendlier.

Food is decent, but I've been spoiled by MO BBQ. Service could be more friendly. Outside seating only, which is fully covered and accessible to disabled. Hours vary greatly - last 2 times I've come by they were closed, which is fine, but no way to really know unless you walk up; so it's not my first choice when I think of supporting local restaurants.
Pricing... the pricing keeps me coming back. Meat is dang expensive now and they have prices WELL worth the good food they make!

Just went today and it was just as good as it was before the pandemic. If you're going after 2pm, call first as they sometimes run out and close early.
In the past, this has been good. Today was a huge disappointment. I ordered a to go meal for a friend. The order was ready quickly. It was a two meat plate with chicken, beef, coleslaw and green beans. The meat was cold, hard, and extremely dry. I would say it was left over from a day or so ago. The green beans were warm as was the coleslaw. People can get sick from eating food that isn’t handled properly and left out at the wrong temps. It was a waste of money and didn’t get eaten.
