El Portal is one of the best spots in Dallas for authentic Latin food and fresh-baked pastries. Everything is made with love — from the delicious empanadas to the amazing pan de bono and almohabanas. The service is always friendly, fast, and makes you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this small bakery. I love going to restaurants of other cultures and cuisines and practicing speaking their language. So I walk in, "Hola! Como estas?" And they start speaking very fast and excitedly. Thats where my Spanish just fails me lol. And even though the elderly woman told me, "Mi English, es muy poquito", we were still able to communicate, and they helped me get a delicious sweet cheese bread ball and their coffee was excellent too....
