Place does not exist.update, owner says it's not opened yet. it's been in the making a looong time and guys when it opens i live right down the street and you can bet i'll be trying you out!if you want to update your reply when you open then i will get the notification. i do not cook ever, so i'm always looking for a great new joint in the neighborhood. hope to see you soon

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and the food was always good. The service was lacking, but the food was good. Today was totally different. My friend and I ate lunch there. The waitress acted as though she didn't want to wait on us. When she finally decided to bring us some menus she wanted us to order immediately. It was my friend's first visit so she needed to look the menu over. She ordered the J*** Chicken Sandwich with rice and beans. The sandwich was tiny, but my friend said the food was good. I ordered the J*** Burger, a ginger beer, and we both had the dessert sampler. The sampler consisted of two slices of cheesecake and a slice of bread pudding. The cheesecake was OK, but the bread pudding was dry and tasteless. My burger bun was old, tough and stale. The meat was overcooked, had no j*** sauce and was so dry I almost couldn't chew it. Thank goodness for the ginger beer. The burger had a thin slice of tomato and what looked like two baby spinach leaves. My burger was TASTELESS. We had to ask for silverware for both courses. We had to call our waitress to our table to let her know that we were ready for our checks. We decided to take our desserts with us. The takeout box was so small it looked like it was used for a junior-size burger. The prices were very high. I'll sum The Island Spot up by saying if you want to eat overpriced, terrible food, and get terrible service, then this is the restaurant for you. I won't ever go back.

I visited the Trinity Mills Road location to pick up a phone order for my wife. When I arrived, I noticed one customer sitting at the bar and no one else in the restaurant. After a long wait, a person finally came from the kitchen (toward me) and stopped at the cash register, She never acknowledged or spoke to me. She then proceeded to the back of the restaurant, picked up a phone from a table and talked for a long while. Finally, she asked if I was there for a pick up. When I asked if she noticed me standing there when she first came out, she responded in a very rude and disrespectful tone and said "she was on the phone". She never apologized for the long wait. I did not try any of the food. So, I can't commit on food taste and quality. But the service was horrible!!!

This place is horrible. Long waits, defensive postures, disrespectful staff, and - to top it all off - I threw up on the food and it made my children sick, as well. I will never patronize this disgusting establishment, again. There's no telling what was in our food and the staff was so rude. Robert & Desmond don't want to listen to anything a customer says. If you look at the google reviews, you will see an overwhelming number of people agree that they wasted their time/money/health on eating this trash. Fake Jamaicans and horrible food/service. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! DON'T GET GOT!!!!!!! I hope they close down and I'm so disappointed. I had to write this review!

We were visiting my brother-in-law in Dallas and he brought us to The Island Spot. The place was full of people laughing and having a good time. I loved all of the reggae music and couldn’t help but sing along as other patrons were doing, too. Our servers were super personable and we enjoyed visiting with them about our visit to Dallas and the menu. I had the j*** chicken, fish and red beans and rice. It was delicious! The j*** chicken was super tender flavorful and the fish had marinated vegetables with it that brought the spice. And the red beans and rice had the right amount of everything! I had no trouble finishing my plate. Highly recommend!

Wow ... what a great find! We showed up on a day that storms had just wiped out the area and no one for miles had power but we stuck our head in just to look and the staff was happy to seat us and made us aware that some items were not available due to lack of power but we ordered the curry chicken and the j*** chicken and both were amazing. The staff was so friendly and worked so hard in very unfriendly conditions. This was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back when the whole menu is available.
