Went here for a quick AYCE hotpot lunch, came out slightly disappointed. The atmosphere was depressing with very little lighting and lack of interior design. I’m sure the place is a lot livelier in the evening.
However, the hotpot was not well taken care of at all. The soup base tasted bland and exactly like salted/msg’d water. If you put crawfish or crab or clams in the broth, it would just absorb the fishiness from the seafood. The quality of different sauces they have available is also not the best.
The only redeeming factor would be the selection of seafood and vegetables, as well as the quality of their meat, but they only have a few varieties of meat to choose from.

Always enjoy...love the veggies, talking over our individual steaming broth pots, adding spices and meat.. so good!

Vegetarian options: Not sure if they have a vegetarian broth.

Dietary restrictions: It is a buffet at hot pot, so you can choose what suits you.

Service is great from everyone.
The music selection is...
... really odd. They played a lot of Jelly Roll and some Christmas music, but also uncensored, foul, gangsta rap. Not family friendly at all!
Most of the food was good. I recommend the house soup made for HotPot, as both the chicken and cream eye delicious on it.
However some of the vegetables had mold growing on them, so it was obviously not fresh. We told the staff and they apologized, but no discount was given for moldy food.
Dumpings and corn were really good.
$150 for 4 people, including tip.

Worst service I’ve experienced in my ten years living in DFW.

The waitress never checked in on us, never refilled our drinks, and never took away a single plate.

She completely forgot about the table next to us, so we watched four people get up and walk out without eating, after 30 minutes of waiting in vain for the waitress to come and take their order. How embarrassing!

And when we did speak with the waitress, she didn’t seem “all there”. I honestly believe she was high on drugs or maybe experiencing a medical episode, because her behavior was not normal.

The bus boy, the only other employee we saw, was either sitting in a chair or leaning against a wall for the whole hour we were inside, and he never took away a single plate, even as our table became covered with dirty, empty dishes from the buffet.

In addition to the terrible service, we also observed two possible health code violations:

The waitress was wearing open-toe pajama slippers, which I am certain is a health code violation.

Meanwhile, the ice cream bar consists of two 5-gallon buckets of ice cream that customers are invited to scoop themselves — and if that isn’t a health code violation, it should be. I don’t want to eat ice cream that other customers stuck their dirty hands in, gross!

Finally there were two more glaring problems that convinced us management truly doesn’t care:

First, the whole restaurant groans constantly with a loud, humming noise from the speakers. Apparently no one cares enough to fix it, and also no one cares enough to shut the speakers off.

Second, Shabro uses the wrong peanut sauce. Instead of the normal peanut-sesame dipping sauce you find at hot pot restaurants, Shabro uses the thick peanut-sugar sauce typically served as a condiment for meat at Thai restaurants. Although this might seem like a minor detail, it actually says a lot: it tells us that Shabro management doesn’t know what they’re doing. Or alternatively, they do know, but they don’t care, so they buy the wrong sauce anyway.

At $29, I regard my dinner at Shabro as a complete ripoff. I will not be coming back, and, considering there were only three other tables filled at 6 PM on a Saturday, apparently no one else is coming back either.

Not the best hotpot ayce place, but at least they are clean enough. Service was kind of lacking. Limit 3 choices of meat each time even with a large group. It took forever for the waitress to come back after we finished the first round. We had to walk over to the wait station where the waitress was playing on her phone to order more meat.
There are about 10 meat choices, either beef or pork. A handful of seafood choices from the buffet tables too. They were all decent, not great but decent.
I'd not recommend this place if you have other choices. But for $30 a head, it's not a bad deal. It's just not great food and not so great service.

At first this place was nice despite the lack of cleanliness with the buffet. The place was beautiful and I only had little complaints until the staff guilted me into leaving a tip by saying I have a credit card I have the money. I definitely won’t be back.

The soup has no much selections and also no taste, no much stuff to choose from. Is not the same as advertised.

I don’t know what the positive reviews are talking about. That was the worst hot pot I’ve ever had in my life. They didn’t even have regular soy sauce that wasn’t sweetened. The chili oil was just oil.

We visited on Saturday evening. The place was interesting. But the food was terrible, the vegetables were old. The service is like in a Tobish eatery. The staff are two old grandmothers and that’s it. The visit experience was terrible

Our first time hot pot family experience. My kids enjoyed it. Nice ambience, clean area and friendly staff. Large selection of veggies, seafood and meat choices. Definitely recommend it for the experience. It cost about $30 per person.

Came here for my birthday lunch and was scolded by the lady server for not eating all of my meat. Please stop treating paying customers this way.
