I ordered chopped pork, beans, potato salad, and a pork parfait and saw jalapeño pineapple sausage was a special that day. I had no idea what that would taste like. Nice young lady gave me a sample.........I ordered some. Wow! It was delicious!!
This place is ridiculous. Will be stopping in every time I'm in carthage until my heart gives out. Got the pork parfait and tiny twisters.

This is now a destination stop for us! If we are within 30 min traveling we will go out of our way for Twisted Hickory BBQ! I got 1/4 lb of everything and are every bite! Wife got a bbq chopped beef sandwich and she loved it!

Let me start off by saying this was by far my all around best BBQ experience to date. I stopped by about an hour from closing time, which I know is risky and you get what’s available. I got the brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, smoked Mac and cheese, the MAN beans, and a sweet tea. Spoke with the owners while my order was being prepared and let me tell you, these are GOOD people. The hospitality alone would be enough for me to keep coming back. Received my order, got back to the hotel, and it turns out I’ll be coming back for more than just great hospitality. EVERYTHING was delicious! I’ve had so many BBQ experience where either the bbq was great but the sides were mediocre or vice versa. Not at Twisted Hickory. The brisket was firm but tender and moist with great flavor. The jalapeño cheddar sausage perfect. The Mac and cheese and the Man beans were phenomenal. People of Carthage (and anybody driving through or in town for work) PLEASE come support Twisted Hickory and show this place some love. I’m not from around these parts, but I’d make the drive just to eat at Twisted Hickory BBQ!!

This is by far the best BBQ in East Texas! The meat is so tender and flavorful you don't even need BBQ sauce. The Mac and Cheese was perfection! We got a little of everything to try and nothing disappointed. Everything was mouth watering!!!!!!

I read the reviews and when ppl say this is the best bbq place in Texas they aint lyin! I got the 3 meat plate and the brisket was the best Ive ever had, the ribs fell off the bone and the pulled pork was delicious. The flavor they use was so darn good I didnt even use any of the sauce they supplied! Dont pass up on tryn this place for yourself, you wont regret it and i guarantee you that!

In town from Indiana looking for some real Texas BBQ, and boy did we find it at Twisted Hickory!!! The food and the owner’s absolutely were amazing! Thank you for the goodies to bring home and talking with us. We was so full from all the samples we ended up bringing our lunch home to Indiana. Definitely will be back when we come back!!
