Excellent resort breakfast, with buffet or a la carte option. The Texas waffle is delicious and picturesque.
Renz was AWESOME. Food was great. Nice options. Relaxing atmosphere. Great kids options, just in case you have children with you.
My friends and I love to hike in Bastrop state park and then head to the buffet at the Lost Pines Resort. The last time we were at the buffet was Thanksgiving 2021 and the service and the presentation and quality of the food was on a totally different level than the buffet we had this Christmas Day 2022. We headed to the buffet after our hike and instantly could feel the place had changed. We did not get any warm bread in a basket like the previous visit and when we asked about it the waiter said at first that no they didn’t have bread but then went into the back and brought out 4 unsoft buns without butter. Upon heading to the buffet the lobster bisque was not even luke warm( the waiter stated the heating element went out) . You would think that someone would be monitoring the buffet to make sure the food was hot , not running out, etc. The presentation of the buffet itself was messy and not what you would except for a $68 per person price tag. There was salad dressing dripped all over the containers holding the salad dressing. The previous visit a year earlier the wait staff was diligent about removing dirty plates from the table and this time they were not removed as efficiently. Also an 18% gratuity was added to our bill for a party of 3! Also the deserts in 2021 were substantially superior in presentation and selection than this year. This used to be a place my friends and I were excited to visit and it appears we will not return unless there is a change.
Was waiting for 15min never got my order taken. Made multiple eye contacts with waitresses and still didn’t take our order.
Best place at Hyatt Lost Pines to get an incredible buffet breakfast.. so much food.. Made to order omelets, yogurts, smoothies, eggs, pancakes, you name it.. they left nothing out.. price was reasonable for the selection you got.. and service was awesome!
My place to have great time and meals in my lovely Hyatt Lost Pines , where we make memories
$42 each for the weakest buffet I’ve ever seen. Literally nothing was good. They have oysters (weren’t edible) and didn’t even have horseradish. Well, we were told by one staff member it was downstairs but our server said there wasn’t any. Interesting. $120 bill for 2 drinks and 2 adult buffet. What a joke. Would’ve rather ordered pizza from dominos and drank beer in our room.
I have not been to the Hyatt in a few years, so did not realize this cafe was no longer open for lunch. I brought a friend to treat her to lunch for her birthday and was very disappointed to find this cafe closed for lunch.
The food was good and fresh, but what really made our experience was our server, Crystal, who went out of her way to make sure we were happy. She was amazing!!!
This restaurant at Hyatt Lost Pines is great for breakfast and dinner. Dinner buffet was slightly pricey though but very fresh.

After reading a great menu on Hyatt's website of this restaurant and calling ahead to make a reservation, I was very disappointed when we checked in and was told it was buffet only. And a not so tasty one at that. When I questioned if it was an off night, they said no, and that it's been buffet for years and Hyatt just hasn't updated the website. I went to the bar restaurant next door, and with an hour wait, we decided to try the buffet as we were all hungry. Hind sight, wish we had waited for the other restaurant. The buffet was “South of the Border” themed. The food was horrible. Your basic Mexican restaurant would put this food to shame. Only good things there were roasted veggies and tortilla soup. The rest was pretty gross considering how much they charge. For two adults and two kids, our bill was $128 plus a tip. This was just food, and did not include any alcoholic beverages. For what we paid, the food was unacceptable. The only good thing about our dinner was that our waitress was great and attentive.

The breakfast buffet is really good, but the dinner is not at all. Poor food quality and only a buffet offered.
Best shrimp bisque, best lobster mac and cheese, best lemon meringue, and best cheesecake I’ve ever tried in my life! I don’t even like cheesecake but I tried a bite of someone else’s and it was so fluffy. Tuna tartare was very fresh and a nice appetizer. Wedding was taking place outside the window so some of us went to watch for a minute :)
Best pancakes (moist on the inside, maple syrup), french toast (brioche bread, moist but cooked inside), and eggs benedict (a tad salty, a tad spicy) I have ever had- all three were the best I ever had. Ask for Elliott. He won't steer you wrong.
