Our friend brought us here and had raved about the food and service. Let's just say, he has made up for every past selection. This place is Amazing. The owners cook and bake everything themselves. This will be our weekly visit.
I found this restaurant on accident kinda. I was in Bastrop, and I did pass it up on the way there. We went in and saw it was home cooked Southern food. My great nephew had their chicken nuggets (homemade) and fresh cut fries. I had their chicken fried steak, mp, and green beans. It was all delish! They have great, not so sweet corn bread, too. We also got a piece of homemade chocolate cake and banana pudding. Both were to die for! The owners are friendly and very sweet. I got to try their gumbo, and man, was it good! Next time, we're trying the meatloaf. They are a tad pricey, but way worth it!

My only regret is I didn’t try this place sooner. I’m at a loss for words with how incredibly delicious the food is here. One of the best cafes I’ve been to hands down. I highly recommend this place! Check it out! You won’t regret it! I’ll be a customer for life.

This place is the definition of a hidden gem — just a cozy, no-frills spot where you can get some seriously good food.
The menu changes regularly and has all the comfort food you’d hope for. The fried fish that the owner suggested was delicious. And the shrimp that they tossed in was an unexpected bonus. Dont’ get me started on the red beans and rice… WOW… It really hit the spot! You can tell they put a lot of love into what they cook, and it tastes just like a home-cooked meal.
What made it even better was the friendly, down-to-earth vibe. The staff treated us kindly and the service was quick and easy. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome the minute you walk in.
If you’re looking for a laid-back spot with great food and a warm atmosphere, this is it. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The gumbo is exceptionally delicious. The crust on the chicken fried steak is super tasty. The gumbo is better than any restaurant in New Orleans. The owner said they only make it on Fridays. This place is clean.
