First time visit. Coffee and breakfast items were good. But what stood out as I went through the drive thru was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, and it seemed genuine, natural, and casual (in a good sense). Just made the experience really nice and a level of customer service you just don’t see much of anymore to be honest.
And being honest, I am one of those that feel tip culture has gotten out of hand. I don’t tip for fast food and counter service anymore like I did during covid. However, I did tip today, they did earn it, and provided great service just thanks to their attitude, suggestions, and overall pleasant demeanor and experience.
I’ll be back.

Okay this is a really weird one, My wife and I came here for the 1st time. The place is cool but at one of the big windows on the inside were a bunch of bees, yes one the inside! And they did not seem concerned in the least, too bad for those that are allergic. The employees here have no uniforms, all are just wearing random cut off shorts and skimpy shirts, the creamer amount in your coffee is determined by them exclusively, no trash can by the condiments, music is way too loud, sounds like a night club. This place needs to rethink their marketing strategy for sure. 50/50 on the recommendation.

I got a medium drink and a small pastry and it was just shy of $15. For that reason alone, I would not be back. For the price it was very mediocre. Also, the tables were dirty, and while the baristas were nice, they were all kind of standing around talking, which in general is totally fine, except that the tables were dirty and the place looked like a mess.

I am a true black rock coffee lover I come to this location 5-6 days a week. The girls are truly the sweetest. However, I have been twice so far this week and both days there has been a small cup of syrup attracting 10+ bees flying around. Surely one has flown into someone’s car. This has got to be the most idiotic idea ever and clearly was not very well thought out. Get rid of the syrup if you want to keep your clientele.

Waited 15 min past when our order was ready because thet decided not to use the speaker. Not sure what that's all about. All orders placed and picked up at the window-even though we ordered ahead via the app. Tea was already bitter because it sat so long.

I came here over a month ago and they were out of nitro and/or cold brew. I gave them another chance this week and was shocked to find out they were out again.

Service is good though, and I enjoyed the nitro the one time it was available months ago, hence the 2 stars instead of 1.

No Internet. Don’t have supplies for menu items.

Disappointed Regular – Quality Has Steadily Declined

I used to be a loyal customer at the Black Rock Coffee Bar in Cedar Park, often visiting multiple times a week. It was my go-to spot for quality coffee, a good atmosphere, and consistent service. Unfortunately, over the past three to four months, the experience has noticeably declined—and it’s been frustrating to watch one of my favorite places go downhill.

The biggest issue is the coffee itself. Lately, every drink has had an overwhelmingly burnt taste, as if the beans are being over-roasted or reused beyond their quality threshold. Instead of that rich, smooth flavor I used to look forward to, it now tastes harsh and unpleasant—something you’d expect from a last-resort gas station brew, not a specialty coffee shop.

To make matters worse, I’m now paying close to $20 for just two drinks—and the portion sizes feel smaller than ever. That might be tolerable if the quality matched the price point, but when you’re paying a premium for what tastes like scorched beans in a tiny cup, it’s just not worth it.

It’s disappointing, because this location had so much potential and once truly delivered. I kept giving it another shot, hoping things would bounce back, but after repeated visits with the same poor results, I’ve finally decided this will be my last. If I wanted a bitter, burnt coffee experience, I could easily head to a chain like Starbucks—and at least know what I’m getting.

I hope the team at Cedar Park Black Rock takes these kinds of experiences seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Right now, it’s just not living up to the quality or value that customers deserve.

Tatum is very rude. Couldn’t catch the other person but was also very rude.

We are loyal to the other black rock in Hutto so came here as a part of our Father’s Day treat as we were in the area and were treated very poorly.
