“When I saw this place call itself an Izakaya I came with high hopes, as when I was in Japan our home was very near an amazing Izakaya and a Yakatori restaurant that we went to under our train station in Osaka.

This place is a little different than what I was hoping for/expecting

The food was ok, the menu has a lot. But it was more of a sushi place with some Izakaya/Yakatori mainstays

I was hoping for Tsukune, tebaski, sunagimo in addition to the kaarage and tonkatsu

So to focus on what I did have:

Tonkatsu: was pretty good came on a plate with the pork cutlet and lightly topped with tonkatsu sauce with some partly fried potatoes and a couple slices of cucumber and tomato, the pork was cooked well and was juicy, the breading was not quite crunchy, not sure if they use shokupan or if it's a freshness issue, the breading did easily separate from the pork

I also ordered chicken yakatori and pork Yakatori, they came on a plate with lemons and shredded cabbage

The chicken was cooked well, the sauce they used (tare?) was flavorful and I enjoyed them, a tad well done

I did not enjoy the pork, it was tough and dry

I also ordered some unagi sashimi, which came with some ginger and wasabi (a bit milder and sweeter than I expected)

The unagi was cooked well and served warm and was very tasty

I would like to come back and try the Una don or katsu don, a table next to us ordered it and it looked really good, will update if I try it again.

“We went this last Friday for their Prime Rib Special, we arrived right at 5:00pm and were seated right away. Service was incredibly quick and our server was a fantastic personable woman (whose name I can’t remember 🤦🏻‍♀️). The fresh bread was sooo good, my husband had the Cajun pasta which was sooo delicious! I got the Prime Rib Special, the smoked mashed potatoes were to die for, and the asparagus was perfectly cooked. My prime rib was a little overcooked, which made it a bit tough but was still so yummy and the seasoning on it was top tier. The cheesecake dessert was one of the best desserts I have ever had! It lasted about five seconds at our table. The cocktails and mocktails were also perfect. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back!”

My husband and I both love Indian food so we have tried several places around the CP/Austin area and this restaurant has the best flavors we've had. The food was delicious, every container was labeled with contents, and we were so impressed with the menu. My husband is vegan and they had plenty of options. They have definitely earned a dedicated customer.”

I’m not really into spicy but here I can handle it. Last but no least… the service! The customer service. Fast, kind, always with a smile open to help and give you advises. They are so skilled and knowledgable. Waiters knows al the plates, and tastes. Also huge shout out to my Venezuelan friend. He is a bus boy and he is always goes above and beyond. “Torchy's is a street taco specialist that started up as a food truck in Austin and has now expanded to over 90 restaurants across the States including this place on Whitestone Blvd. in Cedar Park. They have a fair sized indoor seating area as well as outdoor tables. You can do take-away and delivery as well. Menu features a few not-taco and side items along with their signature list soft tacos that are really good. We had dinner here recently amongst friends, tried 6-7 of their different tacos, let's just say that nobody complained and we gladly finished them all. Torchy's is a neat place that is family friendly and a good spot to meet up with friends. Prices are reasonable, range of taco options good and they seem to know what they are doing in the kitchen. Would gladly eat here again and do take-away for meals at home.”

“I stopped by recently and was honestly impressed from start to finish. The protein tea was the highlight—super refreshing, not overly sweet, and you can actually tell it’s made with quality ingredients. I liked that it didn’t have that heavy, chalky taste you sometimes get with protein drinks. It felt light but still energizing, which is kind of the perfect combo.

They also offer aloe and added vitamins, which I wasn’t expecting but really appreciated. It made the whole experience feel a little more intentional, like they actually care about what they’re serving and how it benefits you—not just throwing together another sugary drink. You can customize things too, which is always a plus.

The flavor options were great, and the one I tried tasted clean and smooth without being artificial. Definitely something I’d come back for, especially if you’re looking for a healthier alternative to coffee or energy drinks.

What stood out just as much as the drinks, though, was the atmosphere. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming without being over the top. You don’t feel rushed, and they’re happy to answer questions or help you pick something out.

Also worth mentioning—the place was very clean, including the bathroom, which says a lot about how they run things overall.

All around, it’s a solid spot if you want something refreshing, a little healthier, and served by good people. I’ll definitely be back.”

It was actual brownie bits. Kudos to them on that. They had cornhole boards setup. Wish my kids were with me because they would have loved that. I assume this a local chain. Honest Mary is a fast-casual kitchen preparing vegetarian, gluten-free and healthy bowls at their two branches in Austin. We stopped by recently and did their Sedona Lime and Med Harissa Bowl, both were freshly prepared and tasted very good. You can also do custom bowls choosing your own proteins, rice/salad base and other food items/sauces. Prices are about right for the food quality and portion sizes served. Seating area is a regular, casual restaurant and bowls are prepared fairly quickly.”
