Stopped by the 1431 Café for a mid morning breakfast. There was a line forming behind us, but we were promptly seated. The greeter was very welcoming. We ordered the Big Breakfast and the Chicken fried steak. The portions were huge and we had to get a “To-Go” Box. I will say that there is something to be said about cold food. This cafe always has a crowded parking lot. So we decided to stop for a burger. The hostess was borderline sullen, no smile, no greeting- so ok, maybe long day, maybe too long of a shift, maybe just worn out. Ok. So our server came over- she was just GREAT- a smile, efficient, took our order. We ordered a patty melt with fries- it arrived in 5 minutes.
