“We had the BEST experience from beginning to end with our larger party at Mags! We hosted our position dinner for the CPHS Linebackers and Coaches in Mag’s “Bullpen” and it was awesome!!! Jordan and Jill went the extra mile having everything ready when we arrived! Jordan made sure that the hungry guys had full drinks, their orders put in/delivered swiftly, and that the chips/queso/salsa was refilled before they could ask!😜 Jordan was an awesome server, had great communication with the guys, and as always was super friendly😊!! The food was perfect and the guys all said it was one of their favorite position meals! We will definitely be coming back to Mag’s and Jordan and Jill for future large parties!“

We had an early Wednesday morning and decided to stop into Snooze for the first time around 8 AM. The vibe is very retro, fun 60s/70s energy with a bright, welcoming atmosphere. Since it was early, it was nice and quiet with plenty of open tables. We were greeted right away and immediately seated at a table with more than enough room for my daughter’s wheelchair, which I truly appreciated. Accessibility always matters.

I ordered the Bella Bella Benny, an Italian twist on Eggs Benedict. The cream cheese hollandaise reminded me a bit of Miracle Whip. My first bite caught me off guard and I wasn’t sure about it, but as I kept eating it grew on me and was overall good. Taste is subjective though, and personally I wouldn’t order that particular dish again. That said, the presentation was beautiful, easily five stars there.

I substituted the hash browns for a bowl of fruit with pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh, colorful, and flavorful. With a black coffee and water, the total came to $24, which felt reasonable.

Our waitress Ashe was phenomenal. She had such a great attitude and genuinely made me feel like a VIP. The atmosphere and staff are five stars all day. The food was good, just slightly off from my personal flavor preference this time.

I will definitely be back. After ordering I spotted the corned beef hash on the menu and that is already locked in for next time. Looking forward to it.“

“Oh my... Buy 5lbs, get the 6th free! Service was awesome, and the mud bugs were even better! With or without the Abby's Cajun recipe, the crawfish were full of awesome flavor and were easy to peel. I chose the hot heat level but will be choosing the next level up upon my return. If you like the spice of life, you may want to choose the top tier heat to start off with!“

“My wife and I had the best experience here for my birthday lunch, I'm so glad we chose this restaurant to eat at while in town for the Austin FC match! “First timers here and it was exceptional! The wait was estimated to be 30-45 minutes, which isn’t terrible for a Friday night, but we were seated way before that. One nice thing they offer outside while you wait is the opportunity to scan and order some apps and drinks. We had CW wait on us, and he was awesome! Food great, drinks great, atmosphere great! Definitely one of the higher quality Tex Mex places in town!“

“First of all we need to caveat this review with it being Valentines day and it was very busy and probably not a typical dinner night. With that being said the servers and attendants appeared confused and without proper order. We had 4 waiters ask us if we had ordered. Did they not get tables assigned? We ordered a first order of drinks and they were ok, yet our second order were perfect. Consistency was not there on the drinks. The dinner was great yet they did not ask my wife how she wanted her steak and it had to go back to get cooked to her liking. The attendant primarily assigned to us was incredible given how busy he was. Some of the attendants were underdressed for a formal restaurant and took away from the ambience. I would not rate a low end restaurant this hard but to be pricing food the way you do, more is expected. Overall they did good. I know how hard a valentines dinner night can be.“

“We had the most beautiful reception at Wish Well House. Shout out to Maggie for making the planning, choosing vendors, and the wedding day absolutely wonderful and super easy. We love how the vendors worked together to make the day exactly what we wanted. The open bar with signature drinks was fabulous. The Wish Well House is gorgeous and looked incredible with the flowers and decorations. The light and bright setting made for beautiful pictures as well. We are so lucky to have celebrated our special day at Wish Well House.“

He knows my drink by heart and is always so fast and attentive with me, and all other customers, which i’m sure you can assume is difficult with that much noise. Really nice guy and he makes a mean margarita. Karaoke and bingo nights are THE best and the regulars are always so fun to be around. overall the best neighborhood bar in leander.“

“This hotel restaurant is 5 minutes from our house. It’s been there for approximately 2 1/2 years and I had no idea it existed. While running errands at five in the evening I decided I didn’t want to cook so I googled restaurants in my zip code. This restaurant popped up with 4.5 stars. The reviews were impressive so we decided to try it. I’m so happy that we did. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The restaurant is lovely, well appointed, and has great ambience. The bar tender, Ray, was so attentive and helpful with the menu. Probably the best martini I’ve ever had. I don’t say that lightly as our business was based in travel so I’ve dined in some very prestigious hotel restaurants as well as enjoyed fine dining during many business dinners. The drinks were stellar and the food exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed the lamb meatballs in an agradolce sauce and the brisket nachos. Both were superb. I am extremely critical of food as I’m a very good cook(aspiring chef)😊 This will be on our frequent flyer list from now on. The prices are very reasonable. In today’s economy we have experienced a sudden and universal decline in food quality with more than a few restaurants. This was such a pleasure, surprise, and all around delightful experience. “Mike is basically a cocktail wizard. The man has the skill, wisdom, and creativity of someone who probably dreams in martini shakers and bitters. Meanwhile, my wife and I kept ordering vodka club sodas. Watching him craft these jaw-dropping works of mixology art for other customers while I pointed at a bottle of vodka felt like asking Picasso to draw me a stick figure.

When we first got there I ordered a Stella and quietly stared at the bar, questioning my life choices. Honestly, I felt like I was disrespecting his Hogwarts-level bartending diploma.

But here’s the thing—Mike still treated us like royalty and made our night at The Domain unforgettable. Do yourself a favor: go see him, ask for the “good stuff,” and prepare to watch him work magic that’ll make you rethink every drink you’ve ever ordered.

“We came for dinner with a fairly large group and shared several dishes among everyone.
Starting with the space, the indoor area felt quite small, especially because there was a long line of people waiting to order food. That made the interior feel crowded and a bit tight, particularly since some of the tables were very close to the line. There are many tables outside, which helps, and we were lucky to be there on a cooler day. However, I imagine it could be challenging during the summer with Austin’s humidity.
The tables themselves were a bit small. Since we were sharing dishes, it was sometimes difficult to figure out how to arrange everything because there wasn’t much space.
Overall, the place was quite clean. The restroom was also very clean and smelled nice, even though there were many people constantly going in and out.
The servers were very attentive and friendly, and the drinks were very good. The food was decent nothing extraordinary but nothing bad either. Just solid and enjoyable. I do like the concept of combining a smokehouse with seafood, and the menu makes that concept pretty clear.
The location is excellent. Being on Domain Drive is very convenient because I was able to walk back to my hotel and also easily walk to other places where our group continued the evening.
My biggest complaint would probably be the space and table size. However, for a small gathering or a more casual meal, it works quite well. In terms of food, the price-to-quality ratio seemed pretty reasonable. Since we were a large group, the dishes came out spaced apart as they were ready, which actually worked well for sharing.

“We’ve been to The Water Trough a few times now and in aggregate it is a fun and lively place to dine at. The closest parking is the Orange Garage so the walk over is quick. Breakfast or dinner, it is a nice, clean place with a good vibe and good food. The setting at night is much better as they have live music most nights and put up the garage shutter so you can hear it from their outdoor portion as well.

On the breakfast side of things we sat quickly and service was okay. We ordered the Texas breakfast tacos and the pancakes, hash browns, and bacon a la carte. The breakfast tacos were good. We got them with brisket and the portion was huge, although we wish it came with three tortillas instead of two because it was more than we could fit into them. The eggs, cheese, and brisket all came together and despite what reads as a smaller dish, we were pretty full by it. As for the pancakes, hash browns, and bacon; all were pretty classic versions of them. The pancakes were good, thin and sweet. The hash browns were cooked well with a slight crunch and the bacon was the highlight of the three, full of flavor with a nice chew and crisp. We also ordered chocolate milk, but whatever we got was NOT chocolate milk. It was closer to a frothed drink and had cinnamon in it which was a bit strange. The waitress could clearly see we were not feeling it and she comped it on our bill which was very, very nice of her to do without asking.

The dinner here is much better than the breakfast admittedly. The live music certainly helps and the vibe with the low lighting gives it a very nice feel when dining. We had the country fried steak and LSC burger, both very good. The country fried steak was one of the better ones we’ve had here, extremely savory and the fries were good too. The burger was juicy and full of flavor as well. Beware the fries here are really home fries or cubed fries in case geometry is not your thing.

Ultimately, The Water Trough is a very good place to eat at and is probably a bit overlooked due to its location in The Domain, but between solid food and good live music scene, we don’t see why anyone wouldn’t want to stop by. We’d recommend this spot as an alternative to the hustle and bustle of the north Domain and for those preferring a more relaxed and intimate night of food and music.“
