I tried Juanita's tamales for the first time. Let me say they are delicious.! Juanitas makes them so they are fresh, so plan ahead, the tamales are worth the planning.

These tamales were top notch. Tried the grandma's tamales and Edgar's tamales and both were wonderful. The pork filling was very flavorful with a slight spice to it, just enough to warm you up. The jalapeno and cheese were very good, also not overboard spicy. And the masa had a great texture and flavor. Juana went above and beyond to deliver my order after hours and was very nice to deal with. All in all, a great experience.

Delicious tamales! Pork was tender, meaty and ample. I ordered chicken and cheese too, but I was full after two, so I'll have to review those another time. Glad to have great tamales in CP.

Not good business practices!!Now, I am all about supporting local businesses. Especially my people. However, for 3 days I attempted to order tamales. The owner just strung me along as if she was going to sell me the tamales. Once, I even paid but my order was canceled due to some "Doordash vendor issue." On the 3rd day, when she planned on meeting me with my tamales that were supposed to be FREE for all of the inconvenience, the owner calls me to tell me that I "should have called 3 days earlier",which I did ?... and that she was too busy and finally that I should keep her number to place an order next year!! What?!Completely unprofessional!

I turned up to a locked door at 4pm. When someone opened it they laughed at me when I asked to pickup my order of tamales. Apparently several people were ahead of me and also waiting for tamales. The nice lady on the phone was talking to the absent owner. They eventually provided my day-ahead pre-ordered tamales. You have a choice of tamales, either uncooked requiring 90+ mins in a steamer, or cooked tamales. Definitely go cooked because the uncooked was super time consuming and limited (no more than six at a time). To set expectations: This is a one person operation in a shared kitchen. If you're chilled like Willie Nelson - go for it.
