I visited The Wick in Celina today with my pet because there was a Mickey and Minnie Mouse event happening. I had already confirmed in advance that dogs were allowed. However, once we arrived, the experience was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. We were told we couldn’t meet the cartoon characters because it was a “private party,” even though this wasn’t communicated clearly beforehand. We were also stopped at the entrance and not allowed inside, and instead were told to sit outside on the patio.
By that point, we had already ordered food—otherwise, I wouldn’t have ordered from this place at all. The entire situation felt very unwelcoming and discriminatory. As a Celina resident, it’s really upsetting to have an experience like this at a local establishment. I definitely would not recommend visiting this place.

The food was okay, but when we visited on the weekend, there was a Mickey Mouse event happening. We asked if we could take a picture, but we were not allowed. This made us feel that we were treated unfairly and experienced racism.

Highly highly recommended eating here. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and kind, and parking is easy to find. We got the BLT, breakfast tacos and Jalapeño Cheddar bites (which were a 10/10).

First time visiting I was so excited to go try your cinnamon rolls. That will never happen. WORST FIRST IMPRESSION EVER.
I pulled up with my 1lb senior dog and he peed on the lawn. Not a minute passed by and this lady -don’t care if you’re the owner or not- comes out and says do you need a bag ?! In such a condescending tone. First off my dog didn’t even pooped. She didn’t even saw just assumed . Not even good morning do you need a bag, just that aggressive tone.
I didn’t even bother to walk in … your cinnamon rolls and good pictures of food will remain a yate ey for me. Such a rude horrible lady.
Edit: not seeing I don’t have a bag does mean I don’t have ten on my jacket , my vest and in my car.

I want to go back and rate this place higher. It has all the elements to be a 5 star experience. The food was a miss. The descriptions need to be more clear. Everything is basically on cinnamon roll bread.
The eggs benedict didn't have the flavor, and the bread was cold which made the dish cold.
Others at the table said their eggs were cold.
Highlight dish was the avocado toast.
Atmosphere is nice and we will give this another shot.
Lastly, coffee was good but nothing special.

I drive from McKinney to Celina for this breakfast sandwich on the house made swirl roll. Its insane. You have to also try the candied bacon. This place is so cool and cozy. Built in a old home, the interior is bright and very zen like.

This past weekend after family photos my wife said she wanted to try out The wick as we drove back home. Well what can I say other than the fact the Wick has officially become my family’s go to breakfast spot whenever we want exceptional service and even more exceptional food. From the candied bacon which was a huge hit for all of us, including my eight year old , the steal cut oatmeal with brown sugar , the berry French toast, the breakfast tacos and caramel macchiato, the food was that of a high end breakfast restaurant like Brendan’s in New Orleans. Normally French toasts are incredibly sweet especially if it is covered with frosting, but the homemade bread , and lightly sweet frosting with berries on top and in between the slices was paired nicely and complemented each other without putting me into a scary sugar spike situation. The oatmeal was hands down the best oatmeal I’ve ever had and I even tried to see if Zach , our waiter, will slip up and hook me up with recipe. The caramel macchiato makes the Starbucks version seem like child’s play. The candied bacon was heaven and the breakfast tacos didn’t disappoint either. We finished and my daughter asked if we can do more family breakfasts at the Wick in the future. With breakfast being my favorite meal, the people at the Wick may see us up there (almost 20 miles from my house) monthly. I’m planning on becoming a regular.

My husband and I had brunch at The Wick and were blown away. The food? Perfection. Every bite was bursting with flavor and made with obvious care. The staff? So friendly and down-to-earth, they made us feel right at home.
The space itself has a calming, heartwarming vibe — elegantly curated for a truly relaxing ambiance. You can tell the owners have poured their hearts and souls into creating something special here, and it shows in every moment. Their daughter behind the bar was absolutely wonderful — she baristas like a babe and adds her love to every order. All staff members we met had such a happy energy - together they all make it a wonderful atmosphere.
There is a beautiful outdoor seating area with enormous mature trees, providing shade and a peaceful stillness. Perfect to kick back and relax.
I see some reviews on here mentioning a wait or slower service — remember, The Wick has limited indoor tables and every dish is made from scratch. Wholesome real food. This is a true neighborhood gem, not a fast-food chain. The very thing that makes it so special — the freshness, the quality, the personal touch — also means it takes a little more time. But if you can bring a dash of patience and a bit of grace, you’ll be rewarded with one of the most delicious, heartfelt meals around. Good things — really good things — take time.
If you haven’t been yet, go. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Really enjoyed our visit to The Wick! The food was excellent — especially the amazing bacon. Great selection of cocktails and a nice variety on the menu. The atmosphere has a warm, homey feel inside and a relaxing outdoor seating area that’s perfect for unwinding. Can’t wait to come back for breakfast!

We love the square and want to find more reasons to come to Celina so we have tried this spot twice. Unfortunately both times our servers did not seem trained and service was slow. This last visit, we had a few minor inconveniences when we were sat without silverware (got our appetizer and still had to ask another server to bring them) and my bloody mary came without the candied bacon, no big deal. But when our breakfast tacos came without the bacon and I asked the server if we could get the bacon for them, he said oh sorry we ran out. I expected him to be surprised they were served with no bacon but nope he already knew that and just assumed we wouldn’t mind? He then said, i’ll go figure something out. What does that mean? I’d just like to know before you set the plate down that you ran out of something. Strange experience and we sadly brought out of town guests.
