Delicious experience but I wouldn't recommend the chicken fried steak. Zero pepper. However I recommend the coconut cream pie and the gift shop. The Ranger Station cologne is pricey but totally worth it. Random stranger compliments galore đ
We had been wanting to stop by Camp Verde Restaurant forever, and we finally did! The shop is absolutely adorable with so much cute décor to look at, and the restaurant itself has such a great atmosphere. I had the chicken salad, and it was wonderful, while my husband had the chicken fried steak and said it was amazing. The staff was super friendly, and the whole experience was just delightful. We will definitely be back!
Great old times store
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and had the best, most personable waitresses we have ever had...Andrea and Shannon were fantastic! Be sure to try pecan cobbler, even for breakfast! For calories, you may want to share; for taste you'll want it all for yourself!
Donât waste your time or money. After an hour and a half ride on a motorcycle for my wife and I to arrive, we walked into a restaurant with the worst customer service Iâve experienced in years. First we wait close to five minutes at the âwait to be seated signâ, before anyone acknowledges us, but only after I called out their attention. Then we are seated at a table for yet another 5 minutes without a word from anyone. Are they just busy! No. 90% of the restaurant was empty. During the 5 minutes, I can plainly see 2 waiters and 2 waitresses standing over by the bar, looking our way, just hanging out. Nothing. Then what really got us was the fact that the host walks another couple to a table, and a waiter is literally walking right behind them ready to take their order as soon as they sat down. We are still left sitting there with no one saying a word to us. I donât know if itâs because we were on a motorcycle or what, but I called them out on it, and we left; because anyone with that type of work ethic is almost guaranteed to spit in your food after saying something to them. We definitely will not be returning to this pathetic excuse for a restaurant. Save yourself the trip, and go elsewhere.
What a nice place to visit. The general store has a little bit of everything from dish towels, spices, teas, cups, hand bags and so much more. The employees are very nice too. The food at the restaurant was delicious! I had a build your own sandwich and fried okra and it was outstanding!
Great place to visit
Food was excellent, our waiter did a great job and was very accommodating when we wanted to wait 20 minutes to try fried pickles since we showed up during their breakfast time. I had their french toast and the husband had their omelette, then we had their very crunchy juicy fried pickles. My only complaint is I wish they would have eggs on the French toast place to would have completed it.
I love this place! We all went as a group on Valentines Day! The food and the service was outstanding.
We were traveling through the Hill Country when we came upon Camp Verde. It was indeed an oasis in the rolling hills. We entered in through their very unique gift shop. I'm not a gift shop type of person. I find them to be overly priced items that catch dust. Not so in the Camp Verde Gift Shop. I found their items to be unique and priced moderately. My granddaughter and I had a great time exploring and buying gifts for family members.
Then we had lunch. The food was delicious. The server was fabulous! I bet if you ask your server they will share the story of the camels. We did, it was very interesting. I highly recommend Camp Verde if not for the shopping, the lunch and most definitely the bread pudding and the camels.

Enjoyed this place very much. Good variety, fair pricing, excellent service. Atmosphere is very nice. Breakfast was delicious and gelato tasty. Nice gift store.
When there are the other morning, ordered some tacos for breakfast not happy at all . Everybody really likes lunch menu, but as far as a breakfast tortillas were horrible. Hard they didnât take the time to warm them up it my have been better or they were having a bad morning management was getting in there face he didnât even pull them to the side
Has lunch today, ordered the chopped steak with mashed potatoes. The steak was so tough and overcooked it was inedible. The mashed potatoes were only warm and the steak gravy was so salty. Service was OK
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Camp Verde! My husband had the biscuits and gravy and I had the pancakes with fruit and bacon, and it was absolutely wonderful! The ambience was amazing and the music choice was very tasteful. Our waiter, Starr was beyond exceptional and very attentive. 10 out of 10 server and we will be coming back.
Ainsley in the gift shop was also magnificent. she helped us pick out a number of rings and even helped with recommendation choices and sizing. She is very social and kind. Overall was a wonderful experience and shot beyond our expectations.
It's a nice getaway from SA to CV. The setting is lovely, service excellent! Food is a good value. One of the few restaurants where a person with seafood allergies can order other fried foods (French fries, chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, etc.) without fear of cross-contamination. We enjoyed our lunch very much!
