The Riverside Seafood and Grill

1st time visit yesterday evening. Fantastic experience. My daughter and I arrived by water. Plenty of pier accommodations to tie off your vessel (They even have a ramp). I ordered a burger and onion rings. It was really good. My daughter ordered sirloin steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Steak was ordered medium rare and was cooked perfectly! Sweet tea was tops! They had a 1 man band on a peddled acoustic guitar providing great entertainment taking requests. I loved their elevated backyard deck seating. We had a great time. Server was not as attentive as I would like. Most important thing that I will be returning for is the food quality. Excellent food and generous portions. Just wow, how have I never been here before?

We have returned for a 2nd and 3rd visit since this review. 2nd time, we sat at our table 15 minutes and did not get a server. Time was too tight for slow service. We left hungry and thirsty. Our 3rd visit, again slow service. Took 8 minutes to get a menu and 15 to get drinks. Seeing how this was going, I prepaid the bill so I could leave on time when I needed to and I was glad I did. We had a secondary waitress help close me out since my primary waitress did not visit our table frequently. Secondary waitress was so friendly. She refilled our empty cups with a smile in the absence of our primary waitress and closed our check with a handheld POS.
I still think this place is wonderful. I have just learned that this is not the place to go if you are in a time crunch.
Maybe I'll call ahead my order next time while in route if I am pressed for time.

Final Update: Yes, yes. I keep coming back here for the great food, great atmosphere and riverside docking accommodations. I love it here. Today, I brought a 1st timer guest with me and we met our server Ryan. Super friendly guy and in conversation I found out that he was aware of this review. He was clearly up to the challenge to change my opinion of their subpar service. He knocked it out of the park today. What an asset he is to this business! Redemption is a beautiful thing, fine sir! Thank you! You made our evening!
The GM of the restaurant, Sherry, (please pardon the spelling if wrong), came over and acknowledged this review, introduced herself and offered to help, and said if we needed anything to let her know. It was a quick and pleasant interaction and she checked on us multiple times and made sure everything was perfect for us.
We enjoyed the live band, had phenomenal service and ate like kings with 2 orders of blackened pork chops (hats off to the kitchen staff yet again, y'all are flawless every single time we come). Can't wait to come back again!

Love the water

The food was very good and reasonably priced. The location is tucked away nicely on the water and they have a nice deck to enjoy eating next to the water. Sometimes, the service was slow and inattentive but courteous. The music was not too loud and we could enjoy conversations.

Very cool relaxing place. I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was very good but a little too spicy for me.. .. It's definitely worth it. Don't get discouraged. If you don't like spicy, it's still worth it. Also ordered the shrimp and fish combo basket was surprisingly a good portion . Must go by and check this hidden away spot. Oh, and they have 2 pool tables.. and its only $1.00 a game can't get better than that if you're like me and enjoy pool.

Amazing little hidden jem. The food and service were excellent. you need to start off with the guacamole and salsa. I highly recommend the blackened tilapia, the blackened tuna is extremely delicious. and they also have a great steak. then add a couple of frozen margaritas 🍹 😋

The food is excellent, the staff is awesome and the prices are fair. The restaurant always has something different going on to keep the atmosphere fresh and fun. The location is a little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip.

Stopped by Riverside Seafood & Grill before a party in Baytown. Crawfish was $7.25/lb—flavor was decent but didn’t stick. Could be cleaner. Kids loved the view! Great spot overall.

Ever visit a hole in the wall that you really want to go back to? One that's never going to get a Michelin star, but should? A place where you feel like you're on your back porch and your best friend just came over to cook the best food you've ever had, but on your grille, using your dishes? This is that kind of place. You get plenty of food for the amount of money you spend, and the host and servers are going to be your BFFs. Nadia is very nice! You might even see the owner there, and he's going to be just hanging out with a friend or co-worker, enjoying the evening breeze right there on the San Jacinto. The place might be loaded with marine industry workers who just tied up their tugboat at the marina. Lunchtime might be full of refinery or plastics plant employees. But they're all going to get their fill, and they're all going to enjoy the shipping traffic flowing to and fro as they enjoy the best fish n chips batter ever. Crispy and light with plenty of fries. You might want to try out the "Elvis Fries" which are a. maze. ing. Ranch flavor, bacon, cheese, all baked to perfection. The grilled shrimp skewers are also just like you'd make at home. If you knew how to make them. LOL. My new favorite place in Houston!

Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. My only complaint is my fries were possibly cooked in the fish fryer as they had a strong fish taste. Otherwise it was very good.
