Something has changed last night my whole family came in...4 of us got burgers one got chicken tenders...that were kinda gross. No seasoning..no taste....The catfish was good... but the burgers were different.. my burger looked like a burnt hokey puck .. it was way over done and the meat was much smaller than my bun...its usually as big or bigger than my bun...cooked to a perfect med. ..slightly pink in middle and super juicy.. .this was definitely not...and my husband got the cheese burger that has tons melted cheese. And the bottom of his cheese way waayy over burnt.. like they got a new cook or something.. I dont kno what happened but the size taste and quality have gone down dramatically. At these prices.. we should be getting a decent burger.. and thats not the case anymore.. very sad

Great quick service Sunday morning. I had the Blu cheese burger, (I forget the specific name) personally not my thing. I love burgers and my sister seemed to really like hers. The fries here are very good and on the same level as Five Guys. (Who I love) The onion rings here are very nice and the batter was very crunchy.

10/10 recommend. I have been quiet a few times in the past year and I went last night and yes some new staff. They did great. Love the music. Very entertaining. Cute atmosphere,always. Good food. Love all the fried choices. I am so glad someone bought it and didn’t let it close down. I hope they bring it back to life and embrace all the potential

The elusive Possum Pecker Pie.
This was our first time to Best Burger Barn. We live about 20 minutes from here. When we heard about the pie, we knew we wanted to try it. Today was the day we were finally able to make the drive. I tried the Island burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was good, the sweet potato fries were just plain. We were then told the the possum pecker pie doesn't usually make it to the weekend...... Welp.
Good burgers! The onion rings and fried okra are good as well and they have sweet potato fries. Live music on the weekends.

The elusive Possum Pecker Pie.
I first heard about it from a Bud Kennedy article calling it a must-have. Now, the name alone might scare some folks, but I’m not afraid of a little pecker, so I was game.
It’s about an hour drive each way for me, so I did the smart thing—called ahead. Multiple times. Every time, I was told they didn’t have it.
Part of me wanted to believe Bud sent everyone rushing there to gobble up all the Possum Peckers, but reality says otherwise. I don’t even know if they actually make this pie in-house or if it comes pre-made. The answer was always, “We’re expecting more on Saturday.” Then Saturday would come… still no pie.
I tried this for five weeks straight. I could literally show you my phone log as proof. Same result every single time.
Curiosity might’ve killed the cat, but I guess I’ve been spared—or deprived—of ever knowing the beauty of what a Possum Pecker might taste like in my mouth. At this point, after all the failed attempts, I’m waving the white flag.
