Excellent home style food but the owners retired and sold. New owners renovating into a micro brewery. Not yet open as of 4/16/2021. Not sure whether the name will change but the Prickly Pear is history.

I call this outstanding restaurant once a month since I enjoy the ambiance that is unique to this place. The team is extremely welcoming and professional. The service is pretty efficient. Also, the food you get is magnificent. I visited many times and I was always pleased. The expense is fair. I recommend this restaurant to to everybody.

The Fried Catfish is great and jalapeño cornbread is delicious. You really get plenty. Good prices as well.

That title I wrote is a bit of hyperbole, but I am used to thinking of Rio Vista as a town of fewer than 300 souls, so the fact that it is growing up into an actual town is still boggling to me. The Prickly Pear is a fine choice of a place to eat while in Rio Vista. There is a good variety of food to try and large portions. The dining room is a bit loud, but you shouldn't be having delicate conversations here anyways.

One of my FAVORITE places to eat at. They have a fun kids menu which is awesome because our kids don't struggle picking something to eat. You have to stop in if you're thinking about it!

This place is wonderful. The best home cooked food in Johnson County. Everything on the menu is great. Seriously!!!!The desserts are the best. Save room or get it to go. You won't regret it.

It was a very nice place. The staff was friendly and attentive. The staff was Awesome. They seen my drink get low and and filled my drink without me asking. The setting was neat. Cool stuff inside. The food price was very reasonable. There is an outside deck you can eat at. There’s a little pond behind it! I was impressed with everything and I left full and very happy. I will definitely be going back!!

Arrived at 12:30 on a Friday. It seemed like we arrived just after the rush. The waitress didn’t turn in the order until 12:50. I ordered the catfish basket and my coworker had the salmon. The waitress came by several times letting us know that the food was coming out. The food came out at 1:20. 30 minutes after we ordered.
