We love little places like this. Home cooked meals and nice waitresses. However, the Turnip Greens I had were disappointing. They tasted like they were dumped from a can and warmed through. They should be simmered with bacon or at least bacon fat. The waitress was nice but did not come by enough to check on us. Otherwise the food tasted real good.
Normally, the Ruben sandwich is delicious. Last night, it was a big disappointment. There was approximately a teaspoon of sauerkraut on the entire sandwich. It tasted dry and bland. Next time I will request that they add more sauerkraut, and if they are out, I’ll ask that they inform me so I can order something different.
The catfish dinner was great and my sister had the liver and onions and she loves it. We also had the Ruben sandwich but it was not like before. It was dry and only had about a teaspoon of sauerkraut on it. Hopefully that was an exception and not what should be expected..
