Brought my mom for her 87 birthday waited way too long to be seated and then we’re seated at a table with chairs that we’re not comfortable and compatible for a elderly lady. They offered us no other table so we left.
Intimate atmosphere and delicious food. Everything about our evening was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.

Black Cur in Coleman offers a cozy yet elegant dining experience with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant features simple, rugged, yet classy decor that makes guests feel at home. The menu is thoughtfully designed, with a variety of options including pasta dishes and steaks. Appetizers like Brussels sprouts, focaccia, and ricotta are highly praised. The cocktail selection includes some of the best and most reasonably priced drinks in Texas, with favorites like the pear martini. Guests can walk in for open seating at the bar or call ahead for reservations, especially on busy nights. The restaurant is known for its unique dishes such as crab arancini and a flavorful pork chop paired with jalapeño Mac and cheese. The ribeye is highly recommended, with some claiming it to be the best steak they've ever had. Potatoes with bacon and duck fat are a popular side dish. Desserts like frozen peanut butter chocolate and bread pudding are perfect finishes. The chef, JR, has received praise for his skills, and the engaging presence of the new chef, Makoa, adds to the experience. Black Cur is a hidden gem worth the drive, ideal for special dates or celebrations.
