This is the coolest candy shop I ever seen. Straight from the Willy Wonka movie I think. They have all types of candy in the heart of century square. The only draw back is the price of candy. Price is steep but don't overlook the experience. Recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Service was great! The candy selection is very diverse. The had many ice flavors advertised that were not available. That was the only disappointment.

If I could give this establishment a 0 for poor customer service, horrendous customer service, in fact, I would. We went in tonight (Sat. 10/21) around 7:45 to 8 PM. Keep in mind, I have never been to Hey Sugar before either so I didn’t know what to expect. I ask the girl at the counter how much 1 of the items were and she rudely says “I literally don’t know like I would have to weigh it to even know” and I say okay (she seemed very defensive about this simple question) and I ask if she thought the 1 tiny piece of candy would be more than $2 and she says no. So, I bring the item to the counter and she weighs it and proceeds to tell me it would be more than $3 for ONE chocolate rock. I tell her I’m not interested in it anymore because it seems ridiculous to pay that for one small piece of candy, and she literally says to me “What? You don’t have $3?” First of all, how dare you ask someone that? That is so far out of line. Her face and tone were FULL of judgement. And second of all, what if I or anyone else didn’t have $3 to spend on the 1 piece of candy? She said we had to buy it, and I really didn’t want to because of how rude she was, but my boyfriend is the kindest person on the planet and just offered to pay for it. But seriously, think about how you treat others and how your words affect people because you cannot make it very for in life if you continue to act this way and be disrespectful (and BLATANTLY RUDE for no reason????). DO BETTER.

Good candy, REALLY good ice cream. I came here a lot during the summer, and I still swing by when I'm in the mood for something sweet.

My boyfriend and I came here to get different types of rootbeer, twice, and both times we were greeted with nice staff and a clean upbeat environment.

Ice cream is amazing and I can understand the pricey part of it but the candy is too expensive!! $30 for two bags :(

After eating in Century Square on Sunday evening, went in for ice cream. Maybe the rudest young lady I’ve encountered. My daughter wanted more ice cream the next day while shopping. Different young lady. She was nice after I asked for her opinion in flavor choices. Only two stars because the service on Sunday was so bad. Ice cream taste is OK. ~~A smile speaks volumes, and sure makes others feel welcome. ~~

Selection was great. Had a root beer float with cookie dough ice cream. Was a recommendation from the staff what to pair together. They have vegan free option as well which is great for people with allergies like my son.

This place is amazing. Very unique compared to most stores. Super friendly staff! They had so many options to choose from including items I had never seen before. I loved their ice cream and they even carried my favorite candy that I can barely find anywhere else. The store was well-kept and spacious making it easy to walk through even with all the customers waiting in line. Overall, everything was excellent and I can't complain.

Unfortunately, I need to leave a terrible review. This is not about the store and products but the staff. The owner needs to know who they're hiring. As a business owner myself, I feel it's important to hear. My husband & I had an amazing dinner at Porters just across walkway from Hey Sugar. This was just last week Wednesday evening May 10th at approximately 8:30 pm. We walked in and a young man was behind the counter with noise cancelling headphones on. No greeting whatsoever but ok then. That's not the issue. After we checked out the cool old-fashioned candies, we walked over to the ice cream counter to order. Once making eye contact with the young man, he blew his nose out into the open air and picked his nostrils RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! Issue #1. Before we could ask anything, the young man immediately spoke up and said he doesn't serve ice cream 1 hour before closing because if he does serve 1 person then 50 more people will show up and this isn't good for his mental health. ISSUE #2! Isn't it the point to want as much business as possible before closing hours? As an owner, they need to know this person has no interest in hygiene nor generating any business for the cute store. Obviously, we changed our mind anyway after the nose picking event but shocked still on the not serving due to mental health comment. If mental health truly is an issue for this young man, then retail and service should probably not be his job or be left alone.

I went in a few days ago, and the customer service was really poor. The other times I’ve gone, I haven't had any issues with the service, but this time an employee had headphones on and couldn't hear me when I stood there waiting for a good amount of time. I tried to get his attention, but he was oblivious. I didn't catch the employee's name, but it really made me upset that one of my favorite candy stores in cstat had such bad service.

The selection of candy bars was lack luster and the service was poor. When I asked about candy bars I was told, "whatever we have is in the baskets". I guess she was too busy on the laptop.

The first time I visited here was by chance. I brought my daughter who wanted ice cream and my boyfriend who also wanted the "fireball" ice cream. It's nice to see that adults can also enjoy this place. It left a wonderful experience for my daughter. For me the staff is super friendly and kind. When my daughter asked to come here a second time for her birthday, even though we live in houston, I decided to come. Again the same staff lady was there, super kind and gentle like before. Tha k you for giving us a pleasant qnd memorable experience for my daughter.

The girl charged me $5.25 for this and told me “they must have marked it wrong”. That’s their mistake so why should I have to tell my son no after I was ok with spending the ridiculous $4. We won’t go back.
