Greeted by the worker as soon as we walked in. Ordered our food and got it within 30 seconds. Food was hot and fresh. Fries were crispy and the Texas toast was nice. Chicken was flavorful and delicious. If I had one complaint is that the front of the restaurant where we sat was freezing. Shivered through most of the meal. However I would definitely come back again.Parking: One handicap and one regular spot in front of the restaurant but there was more to the side where you can park.

On my way to Cane's & decided to try Laynes instead. Won't be back. I typically like "holes" & could have liked this one but my chicken was cold & chewy. Fries were good and so was the service but I was expecting the chicken to shine & it was pretty

Came through the drive thru at 12:30am and was told there were no spicy tenders!!! The order taker was very dry with us and forgot our extra sauce we ordered and straw. Smh this is unacceptable!!

I’m a native to Bryan, college station. I’ve always loved Laynes but in the past few months they have been going down hill. They bumped there prices up which I understand, but now they don’t give you Cole slaw or potato salad. The tenders are getting smaller and then I got an order and there were not that many fries ( as seen in the pic). It compared to what they used to have it wasn’t that much. I asked if I could have a little more and the manager said “ that’s a serving “ and would not according at all

I prefer Laynes’s chicken more than Canes.Layne’s sauce is incredibly better than Canes sauce ?.Toast was thin but more buttery, and very delicious. However I prefer a soft pillow like bread from Canes.Potato salad was more than fresh and flavorful??Vegetarian options: Not vegan. But vegetarian?? ??Kid-friendliness: ????Wheelchair accessibility: ????
I used to love Layne's, but over the past year they have steadily gotten more and more disappointing. Prices used to be phenomenal and if you had 8.50 in your pocket you knew you could get a full meal. But now prices have claimed to a point I don't really feel like going any more. This was more than inflation, it was a business decision and their new strategy betrays the idea I had of them. The food is still great though, so if the new menu and prices don't bother you it's still a solid fried chicken joint.

Layne’s has definitely fallen from grace but that’s not what I’m complaining about in this review. I placed an order through DoorDash for pickup and when I arrived the lobby was locked. I got there at 6:45pm and they told me to go through the long drive thru even though I had already ordered ahead of time. I’m writing this while still in the drive thru line that I have been waiting in for the past 30 minutes all while my order is sitting inside ready while the 2 employees that told me to go through the drive thru stood around in the lobby doing nothing. I’m extremely disappointed in what used to be a great spot to eat.

The chicken strips and sauce are the best. The walls are covered with old receipts and notes from previous customers. The place is small and has hardly changed in 20 years, so it brings back great memories for former students.

Honestly, I prefer canes. My food was too salty, the fries weren’t fresh and unfortunately the staff was rude.
