This breakfast/brunch/lunch establishment is very good. Lots of variety, from yogurt parfaits to avocado toast to chicken and waffles to egg sandwiches. They even have seitan you can substitute for chicken for us vegetarians! Staff is always nice and food gets cooked and delivered quickly. Only downside (which is a just a small downside) is I wish the tables inside were spread out a little more, it feels a little cramped trying to walk around the other tables/guests to refill a drink.Vegetarian options: Seitan as a chicken substitute. Avocado toast. Waffles/pancakes. Yogurt parfait. Side options such as French fries.

Chicken fingers were fried in old grease, it looks burnt. The waffles, and eggs are cold. It didn’t have any temperature, it seems like it was made before the chicken fingers.

I recently ordered a super large catering order and the owner, Sal, was nothing short of a dream to work with! He helped us pack as much food as we could get into our budget and made sure to suggest best practices to keep our food fresh! Everyone at our event absolutely LOVED the food. We'll definitely be using Mess for future catering orders again!

Wasn't too bad. It was very crowded but that's expected. It was my first time here. I ordered the Mess Breakfast. Loved the eggs! I'm a huge fan of runny scrambled eggs. I wasn't a huge fan of the waffle. It tasted like just basic bread to me rather than the average taste of a waffle. I loved how crispy and light it was though. Mixed with the syrup and it's not bad. The potato bites were too thick in my opinion. It had a gummy feel and I could taste the oil. The seasoning was good but they weren't the best in my opinion. The sausage was good. I wished I had a little bit more but that's okay. Overall, I'd give it another try.

Although I never eaten here. I just want to give a BIG shoutout to employee Sal. I called asking what my options were as someone who is allergic to gluten, dairy and soy and he got out the menu and broke it down to what I can and cannot eat! Above and beyond I love it

I really enjoy breakfast/brunch at Mess even though it’s a bit crowded on weekends. Chicken sandwich and nutella waffles are my go to.PS: I would really appreciate if you guys can provide with nutritional information on your website. I believe it really helps people who are on a diet to track when they are looking for a cheat meal.

When going to school at A&M, myself and my friends loved mess and were loyal and frequent customers. My partner especially loved it and since we moved away after graduation he has missed it dearly. We are driving for a road trip and decided to make a slight detour solely so that we could eat at our favorite breakfast/brunch place in cstat.Due to it being winter break and hours change in cstat with students leaving I checked the website when we began our drive to ensure their closing time was still 3 PM. To double check, I called them at 12:16 PM and spoke to a girl on the phone who confirmed that they closed at 3 PM today and their hours have not changed for winter break. We arrived at 2:15 PM to people cleaning up and a sheet of printer paper taped on the door written in sharpie that their hours have changed due to winter break and their new closing time was 2 PM everyday. I noticed a worker sweeping outside and asked him about it and he said that it was decided today. I told him that I had called a couple of hours ago and was given the wrong information and he said that the decision was made after the time I called.I find it very unprofessional given that I called ahead and checked beforehand. It leaves a very sour taste in my mouth and my partner was so upset that he said we might not ever go again due to this, but this was said in anger and we probably will still visit when we can. It makes me very sad and disappointed, because this was a staple for us when we were in school and the food is truly fantastic. As someone who has previously worked in the service industry, I understand that things can change, but if I had gotten a call asking about our closing time and given a usual closing time I believe that should be taken into account for the rest of the day to avoid things like this happening and disappointing people.I understand that we are all human and human errors happen. I have been there countless other times and honestly, every other time has been a 5/5. The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. We always get the chicken and waffles, the mac and cheese, the mess fries, and we try a new sweet waffle each time we go. It honestly speaks volumes that we have been there countless times before and this was our first bad encounter. Yes, there is a long wait most of the time, but honestly the food is so worth the wait. Plus, if you don’t want to wait, you can order online, park in the curbside spot, get your food brought to you, bring it home and, and it it there with little to no wait. Overall, yes, we were disappointed today, but based on past visits, we probably won’t be next time. Looking forward to our next visit, because we really miss our chicken and waffles!

Portions are generous and tasty. We had the Mess Breakfast, Nutella waffles, French toast, and chicken and waffles. All were great. Of all the dishes the only thing I wasn't a big fan of were the potato bites. I think it was more of a texture issue (too mushy in the middle). Aside from that, we all enjoyed our dishes.

We enjoyed the Mess Breakfast. The “hot mess” chicken has a great flavor. Everyone’s favorite was the original French toast. Will eat here again.

Wow!! The gluten free waffle is awesome - light, crisp, and tastes like the real thing. I ordered chocolate chips and they were cooked inside the waffle. Crispy, thick cut bacon, and $6 mimosas. So impressed and we will definitely be back!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free and vegan options!

This place has nothing that stood out, was special, or caught my attention. This was a super simple atmosphere. The service was fine, but when asked for what they enjoy or what is good, there was hesitation and just named the fidst thing on the menu it just didn't seem they even enjoyed the food.I was confused by having to pick a place to sit while i was ordering. It confused me a bit.The food was nothing special. The waffles were sad. They were fluffy, which was great, but they lacked flavor. There is so much that could have been done with these waffles, but instead, I was presented with a bland batter flavor. When waffle is in the name, I expect waffle to be the star. The waffle was treated as a plate. Everything just piled on top.Chicken was tasty and juicy, which was great.Eggs were flavorless but fluffy. Bacon super crispy potato bites were potatoes.Nothing about any of the food was impressive. For $33, I was left wanting more.

The food was delicious, a little crowded so there was a line and a wait. The chicken was darker than expected so I was thinking it was burnt, but when I tell you it was the perfect texture and so juicy!! Great job folks.

Very good! Love ordering at the counter and how it's kind of on the side of Century Square away from the thick of everything. Waffle was nice and lightly sweet. Chicken tenders are perfectly crisp and seasoned. Delicious maple aioli. Good service. I'll be back again!

, solid, wasn’t blown away but they were niceI ordered the mess breakfast (waffle, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and your choice of meat (I got the chicken tender since it seemed to be in a lot of other menu items)) and here are my thoughts., okay, didn’t really seem hand breaded or anything home cooked but tasted good enough with , I really was blown away by how well the waffle was cooked and it had a really nice texture to it and paired well with their , the highlight of my meal. They scrambled my eggs to perfection, not too dry or moist and the flavor was great too. Portion was in the 2-3 egg range. A little buttery and salty, not overboard. Was not expecting fresh cooked eggs of this caliber but definitely would recommend. Better than most diner scrambled eggs I’ve had.Potatoes: 4.5/5, interesting take on hash browns, pretty good, almost like a deep fried mashed potato cube.Nice touch having ketchup and hot sauce available complimentary (different dipping sauces were about an extra dollar each). It wasn’t super clear what to do with your dirty dishes when done so maybe some signage could help.I’m only in town a few days but I might actually come back for another breakfast one of these days just for the eggs and waffle.
