The whiskey is great and the Head of Marketing/Quality Control and Lead Mixologist is an outstanding host.
Very nice and relaxed atmosphere. Upon arrival and looking around you very much get a sense of this place being a family run business, and the longer you stay you will also get a sense that the Barkman family not only has excellent knowledge of but also a passion for making good whiskeys. Overall a very good experience, and I felt at ease while enjoying knowledgeable yet laidback conversations on everything whiskey. I highly recommend you pay them a visit if you're from the area or even just passing through. I'm not from the College Station area, but if I'm ever passing through again I will definitely be giving them another visit when I do.
Fantastic line up of whiskies! I enjoyed visiting with the friendly staff and owner. I visit a lot of distilleries and only buy bottles that are superb. I left with 2 bottles.
Great whiskey the young bartender was very helpful
Nice and kozy place. Tried the single barrel wheated whisky and the toasted oak whiskey. Great nose on the wheater and lasting finish on both. Looking forward to some drink and food pairing nights.
Extraordinary stop in College Station! Memorable cocktails and people. It’s a GREAT time. Thank you Nathan!
We visited yesterday and as soon as you walk jn, your hit with the smell of oak and bourbonwhich I loved. We were quickly greeted when we arrived had a fantastic time chatting and sipping bourbon with the owner yesterday. We Will definitely visit again on our next trip!
Had a blast taking with Nathan and trying the Whiskey, funny and really knowledgeable. Definitely will go again. And best old fashioned I’ve had in town.
The wife and I went to Rio Brazos Distillery on 12/27 for the ending of our "date day" (2 small children you fit a date I when up can). This ending was a bit of a surprise to me because my wife just said we were doing a tasting and gave me an address. So here I am thinking it's wine (her go to) and to my joyful surprise it was a Distillery. We arrived just as they opened and met the owners and their kiddos. Had several tastings, good conversations, and time flew by. Before we knew it was almost 5 and we had to get home to the kids. While leaving I get a call from a random number on personal business number. I had apparently forgotten my credit card and he had tracked my number down by searching online. This goes way above normal service. We definitely recommend this establishment, family, and atmosphere. We will be back for sure.
Hidden Gem!! Don’t let the location or building exterior fool you. I really enjoyed my experience at Rio Brazos Distillery! We tried the flight of 4 whiskeys, the single malt, and the wheat. They were all delicious.
The tasting room is very nice, not too crowded, and the ambiance is perfect. I love that the tasting room is lined with barrels and feels so authentic. The owner is also very personable and informative. We will definitely be back, especially at the chance to try their jalapeño vodka ;)

Had time to check out this distillery, awesome place! Small and relaxing vibe. Great whiskey and definitely will be back!
I got to visit the visit the distillery this weekend after having purchased multiple bottles from Specs. They have a great operation and everything that’s available to taste was fantastic! Excellent hospitality and really enjoyed learning more about their whiskey. This place is 100% worth visiting and if I still lived in College Station it would definitely be a regular hang out spot for me.
If you think you might like to enjoy a good drink from a small distillery but aren't sure about it, you'll be pleased with Rio Brazos. The best you've never heard of.
Got to spend some time here and spoke with the owner/distiller. What a great time! He really knows what he is doing and his passion shows. I think we could have spent hours talking about all things booze :-) I would definitely recommend seeking this place out when visiting College Station.
It is a mom and pop place hidden in College Station. We dropped in before heading to a game. We were greeted by Nathan and his wife Tiffany. You can see and feel their passion for the business. Nathan very knowledgeable, educating and comical. Tiffany is his biggest fan! That all comes together in a cozy, charming, relaxed atmosphere with some great whiskey and bourbon. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Even took home two bottles and some shot glasses. We will definitely be back.
