TLDR: The food is good, but overpriced. The place is clean and nice looking, but the service is poor and misleading.
Today my partner and I went to Salata to check it out. When I walked in, the guy behind the bar seemed friendly enough and asked if i wanted a big bowl or a small bowl. I explained that It was my first time going there and asked what they offer. He handed me a small menu with a list of salad options on one side and wraps on the other with each item containing the list of ingredients that it comes with. There were no prices listed anywhere on the menu. There was a sign on the wall that stated the price of a salad and a wrap. It said a wrap is $10.25 and he mentioned the wrap is really good so we picked the Mediterranean veggie wrap. We walked to the other end of the bar while he made the wrap. He came over and started checking us out when he was done. He said the total would be $15.37. I asked why it was more than the sign listed. He said it is because protein is extra and I ordered falafel. I was surprised to be charged more for ordering a standard wrap from the menu that i thought would be $10 instead of picking the individual toppings. (It made sense that protein would be more if I ordered extra). I told him there was no way of knowing that the falafel would be charged extra since it was in the middle of a list of ingredients with no indication of costing more. I also got the veggie wrap, so to see a protein upcharge was astounding. I told him I don't agree to pay that since the menu and the signs are misleading and don't suggest an upcharge. He begins some under handed sales tactics, first by saying he had to talk to his manager if the price can be changed (when clearly he is the manager since he was training a girl at the register) and then quickly switching tactics to saying he can't change the order once he put it in the system. 🙄 what do you mean. The system is probably just square, and I've used Square enough to know how easy it is to change an order that was rung up. At that point I just felt swindled and was about to walk out, but I was hungry and I did want to try the food before making judgments just on the service. I reluctantly agreed to pay and promptly left. The food tasted good but was kinda small, and was definitely not worth $15.
Edit: later I checked the prices through an online order and it does clearly state the prices of the base meals and all additional upcharges as separate selections. The in-store experience was just confusing and misleading.

The staff should be taught customer service skills! If I ask for extra don’t give side eye me and give me a pinch of what I’m asking for!!! This is not the first time this girl has done this!!! I get the same thing everyone I come yet the prices are different EVERY TIME!!! Make it make sense. I given this place chance after chance but this was the straw!! I’m Fn done!

I was visiting College Station and went to the Salata store for dinner. All was good till I started eating, I may have had about 6 to 7 bites and suddenly my son sitting opposite me shouted Mom there’s a bug in your salad. It was a live bug crawling out of the salad. This was the most awful experience I’ve ever had. Imagine a live bug crawling out of your salad. Plus we are totally vegetarian folks. I was so dumb struck that didn’t take a picture before getting up and giving my bowl to the employee. No apologies, the employee didn’t even share the manager phone number. We were a party of 4 paid about $66 for our meal and all of us just had to leave our meal and all we could do was walk away. Never ever will we step foot in a Salata again. I really wish I had taken a photo.

This was my first time at this new salad restaurant. It's pretty pricey. I didn't see egg slices as an option. The employees were very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was dinner time (730pm) on a Sunday, so there weren't many other customers until shortly after we sat down. The restrooms were clean. The salad I purchased was $18 without the tip. The avocado half was extra, and so were the bacon bits. It was delicious!

The amount of options and the freshness of everything offered sets Salata into the upper tier of quick food options. Price is pretty reasonable for what you're getting, maybe the tiniest bit on the pricey side. Everything is super flavorable, and I would definitely recommend this place for anyone needing a quick, healthy, and delicious meal.

Despite not being a huge fan of salads typically, I've been pleasantly surprised by the portions and freshness at Salata.While I've noticed some reviews mentioning small portions, it hasn't been my experience at all. As a larger guy, I appreciate getting bang for my buck, and I can confidently say that Salata delivers on that front. Each time I order a regular salad, I find myself being able to make two satisfying meals out of it. The ingredients are consistently fresh and delicious, which makes each bite a delight.Whether it's the crisp greens or the vibrant veggies, everything tastes like it was just harvested. Plus, the ability to customize my salad exactly to my liking ensures that I always leave satisfied. As a true salad lover this place surprised me with protein options like edamame, chickpeas, falafel and quinoa. The don't hold back on you! Also enjoyed the green ice tea!Ambiance: ample seating, enjoyable lighting.Suggestion for improvement: add tahini to the dressings. All I had was lemon because sauces are not healthy at all.

This is a great idea! It's like I am making salad at home and adding all my favorite ingredients. Everything was fresh. The employees were great and made our salad perfect. The small size was a pretty big salad. They were not skimpy with the dressing either. They had a great selection of proteins and veggies of all kinds. Lots of drink choices too.

My husband and I usually eat here every time we come to college station. However tonight will be our last time. The selection of fruits and veggies are great but they mainly give you lettuce. It feels like you’re begging for food asking to get more toppings on your salad. $35 is way too expensive for two bowls of lettuce. Fix this issue and this would be a great place to eat.

There are two people that look alike who need to be retrained. I had a regular size salad and the guy gave me exactly 4 pieces of cucumber and I had to ask for more. Then he gave me 5 pieces of mushrooms which again I needed to ask for more. Everything he gave me was micro portions. Thankfully a lady took over when it got to the protein section. Wish there was another salata in the area to go to.

As usual, my Salata experience was fantastic. Sometimes I feel pressured going down the line, I was with my grandmother and it was her first time and the options are overwhelming!! But everyone was so patient and kind (even the customers after us were giving advice). Other workers just pulled on gloves and hopped in the line to try to help the bottleneck!Wish I could get more dressing though. For a picky eater, I'm so proud I can come here and really get some good nutrition in, with an incredible taste.Also got a cookie, highly recommend for $1.25 ?
