The place is quaint, the coffee is great. The downfall - The place was packed. Students everywhere. We ended up sitting on the deck as we were a party of 4. Overall we enjoyed the experience. Im only marking it as a four because if you want an inside table you may have to wait for it. And from what we saw you may be waiting a while.
I will be honest the overall atmosphere of sweet Eugene’s is what keeps me coming back, the down lighting good music and typical coffee smell are just so inviting and different from anywhere else in town, but…. The actual food and drinks are somewhat mid. They have the best ham and cheese kolache in town for sure but the donuts are usually cakey and taste like day old grease. The matcha is definitely a matcha latte powder and is pretty sweet but would be enjoyable for a beginner...
I got the matcha, and I’m a matcha connoisseur and it was absolutely terrible, the worst I’ve ever had. However I told the and they gave me a cappuccino instead and it was bomb, so that to me redeemed them!
