Honestly, of all TXRH locations, College Station is the only negative standout. The food quality has consistently been bad and the service is lacking in comparison. I’ve been at least 3 times and it’s been consistently poor. We do not have any issues at other locations. We will not be visiting again.

The main reason: The salads had old lettuce. Our steaks were overcooked and served cold. The green beans were also lukewarm, which normally is piping hot at any other location.

Our waitress wouldn’t even do the bare minimum. We had empty baskets/dirty plates, and when she asked if we’d like more bread, she didn’t pick them up. Her hands were free and no, she didn’t go to another table. Even after dropping off the new bread, she didn’t pick up the empty basket. When our table was just loaded with dirty plates, she came, checked in, and walked off before we had the chance to ask her. Again, her hands were completely free. She didn’t deserve the 20% we gave her. It was out of habit.

I’ve never been super pleased with the service- it is fast food. But the last two times I’ve been have been extremely lacking. I had a waiter who ignored us, and I just used the pick up system for two fries and a dozen rolls… granted, it said pick was an hour later but I figured I had nothing to do and would see if it’d be done early. First off, saw kitchen staff with their gloves still on doing things outside (doesn’t make me feel great about the food). Then I was told to wait in a parking spot that I waited in for nearly an hour and a half. The pick up workers could have easily said to come back later- they didn’t. Instead, they were rude when we checked in about the food. All of that, for standing in the cold, food that wasn’t correct, and a free app coupon. I can’t say I’ll come here again when Outback has never caused me an issue.

The food was amazing as always. Our server, Ethan, was fun, witty, and attentive. But the music inside was so loud you have to half yell to talk to anyone at the table. It's been like that the last 3 times we went. Really wish they'd turn it down a little.

update ** we visited again may 16th, 2025 and our server skylar was
super rude. she was listening to our conversation (which u have to be so close to do) she splashed ice on me in a way that almost had to have been purposeful, and, as if she was tired of getting us refills she brought 4 drinks to our table of 2 (2 refills each) and my bf wasn't even done with the first one he had. all around aggressive, seemed like she thought she was gonna intimidate me (😝)

We had a large gathering, and oh my goodness how do I start off 😂. First of all the music was cranked up so loud you couldn't even hear yourself talk or cough. Second, the waiter could barely take our order with the music being so loud. Then it took a good while for our food to come. The steaks were cold, I ended up eating just a very little because we had already waited that long and I was hungry. But anyways. My husband didn't eat because his food was more colder than mine, so we ended up not paying for those 2 meals. I'm not sure if the food was already ready but the waiter probably took awhile to bring it to us. So it seems like it was just sitting out. I won't be going there for awhile until they step it up a bit. Btw dontborder the Steak Bites with Seasoned Rice, it's extremely salty.

The food is usually fantastic, albeit for bland broccoli and subpar Mac and cheese. The lemonades and steak are really good, and wait staff is very nice. My main issue is the music. There have been times I'll be trying to talk to someone and all of a sudden the music gets cranked up and we're completely drowned out. Last night when I went with my boyfriend, this happened, and we immediately left because it was horribly loud. Kind of ruined the last bit of our experience, considering this is a restaurant, not a sports bar. Other than that, a really nice place to spend time with friends and family.
