I came here over the ND-Texas A&M game weekend (Go Irish!). The Backyard has a great outdoor space where you can hangout, drink some beer, and watch some sports. They also have a couple food trucks onsite.
I will say, I do have some beef because many years ago despite Texas not being a 21+ state they thought that my 19 year-old ID was fake which is preposterous. I had a great time this time, but I don’t forget.

Contrary to what Nathan Russel says, this place actually doesn't suck balls. The environment is always lively and up kept. Some people just can't take responsibility for their own actions and it shows. I'll be back to hang out with the best bartenders and staff on Northgate sometime in the very near future!

Worst bartenders in northgate. Least friendly staff; been bar hopping for the last 3 years and current staff is obsoletely horrible. They don’t know customer service and are rude as hell. Both the bouncers and bartenders are on some levels of rude I have never seen before. Staff needs a training update and fast. Good luck to the owners because they need it. This place is going downhill. I would recommend others go to Obannons, paddock, chicken, dry bean, draconian. Avoid this place for the foreseeable future!

The backyard is a great place if you like live music! No boring run of the mill DJs here especially on Thursdays! We like to come watch Jared Shultz sing. Hope they keep this up as it’s a Thursday tradition for us!
went there a couple of weeks ago and got kicked out 30min into being there. I asked the bouncer standing by the inside stairs if we could go from there, he said no the outside stairs are for going up and the inside for heading down. I purchased 2 buckets and we headed out. I asked the toy story security if those were the stairs for going to the patio. He imidiatly responded " no your not going upstais" even though I had just seen people walking up. I then told him " the guy upstairs said to use the stairs outside" He them replied " I dont care what he said". He then said your out of here and attempted to escort me out but not before I should him some propper manners and how to take a seat. Never again will I stop by there. They have alot of immature kid securities who belive their the new sheriff in town.

Got kicked out for tripping over my boot. I was completely sober. They have an "image" they like to uphold and have a very arrogant attitude. God forbid you go against their stereotypical look or vibe, apparently it gets you removed from the premises. I was also kicked out another time for no good reason--I had a few drinks and was asked to leave and when I asked why a reason was still not provided. Overpriced, music is mid, and bouncers have a horrible attitude.

I’d give this place a 0 if I could. Trent the bouncer made me feel very uncomfortable and was so rude. Other staff was also rude and not helpful to Trent’s mania. HE confiscated my REAL ID and would not give it back. might sue. I am very upset.
