This was our first time eating here. We were in town for the weekend and found this spot on Google. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, so there was plenty of seating. You order over the counter, then grab your table. The staff was friendly and answered my wife's questions with a smile. That's always a plus. I ordered Chicken & Waffles, my wife ordered a Kale Salad(she's Vegan) and Dragon Fries, my son wanted Chicken Tenders w/Mac & Cheese and my daughter just wanted fries. The food arrived quickly and looked very tasty. Portions were good sized. My plate was pretty good, I especially liked how the Waffles were cooked. They tasted great as did the chicken. Everything else we ordered was pretty good too. The Dragon Fries definitely had a kick to them but not overbearing. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept. The tables were bussed quickly which is always good. If you have children, this is a definitely a family oriented restaurant. Parking definitely isn't an issue either, more than enough spots. We'd definitely come back. There was some other items I saw that sounded pretty good. If you're hungry and in the area, The Cookshack wint let you down.

Ribs were so tough and without much flavor so I sent them back. Manager was very concerned and offered to comp my dinner and try another serving. Friendly folks and nice atmosphere however.

If you’re into “Nashville Hot Chicken” type places, you will like it, but it wasn’t really what I expected. If you order the medium heat level, the chicken is as hot as a jalapeño. I ordered mild, and mine was slightly too spicy for me.

Ordered a rib sandwich with barbecue sauce… called the restaurant and the manager argues that she put sauce on there… can ANYBODY see sauce on my sandwich? And she was rude about it😒 NEVER AGAIN!!!! CHECK YOUR FOOD!!! My cashier was great but I’m rating management!!!

The chicken and waffle here really hits the spot, and it's one of the only places open in the evening that sells it. The chicken is flavorful and the waffles are big and soft like I like them. Medium spice has a good kick without killing me. I got Texas hot once and immediately regretted it.

A new experience at College Station, if you are looking for some good and inexpensive food then this is for you. The ribs were magnificent, the meat wanted to fall off the bone, the chicken tenders were mouth watering. The Mac and Cheese, oh my, it was just goodness. Staff was very helpful in assisting what to get. The price was reasonable. We will be back!!!
