This was my first time here for brunch and I really enjoyed it. The setup is different. Self-service, and some waiter service. Overall, the service was good. I ordered crab cake eggs benedict it was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend you pulling up and trying this for yourself. And keep in mind all experiences are different ???

Edited: Adding to my review below. This place is great. Their lattes (classic, vanilla, caramel) are delicious and they are priced better at $4 for a 16oz compared to the competition. This is the place to get lattes. I recommend the vanilla latte. I recently tried their queso dip and Cobb salad. Their queso dip is probably the best I’ve ever had. The queso has a good cheese mixture and a generous amount of sausage added, served with the perfect amount of crunchy chips. The Cobb salad is not as big in size compared to how other restaurants serve their Cobb salad, however their dressing and pickled onions adds just the right touch to make you want to order their version. I look forward to being a regular customer at this restaurant.

Visited the Black Walnut Cafe for the first time today. Welcoming environment. Well lit. Friendly staff. Quick service. I had the chicken and waffles with scrambled eggs. It was good but disappeared too fast. lol. I had an orange juice as a refreshment but I learned that it is not freshly squeezed. I took a carrot cake home for later. $8 for a small slice. Overall good experience. I’ll probably stop by again for happy hour.

Side note: their mimosas are really popular.

I ordered french toast and an ice coffee. The ice coffee came out first covered in chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Not really to my liking, but my husband indicated that was the way I ordered it. Our food came pieces and half of our party did not receive their food for a while even though the restaurant was pretty dead. There was a lot of confusion because the server took the wrong table buzzer and didn’t want to give s our order because it wasn’t tied to the buzzer that they took when dropping off the previous order. M French toast came, it was smothered in butter and syrup. It was soggy on top and burnt on the bottom. Needless to say I did not enjoy breakfast. This was the second time we have come here and been disappointed. I would not recommend coming here. The service was nice and friendly and attentive. Upon complaining about the burnt French toast one of the servers offered to have it remade, but I declined since we had all finished eating. Another server came by and we asked if the French toast was always burnt and she seemed to justify it by claiming it was from the cinnamon. No one apologized of made an effort to refund any money.

We were very happy to find this place with a variety of gluten friendly options. We liked placing the order at the counter so we could be certain about gluten matters and any other customizations. A rare find is their gluten free Cookies and Cream cake. Yum!

I really like this place but I'm upset they don't accept cash. I will think twice before visiting a cashless business. Please start accepting cash again.

Is this the best place to get breakfast in DFW? Possibly. I can think of some others up there, but Black Walnut is phenomenal either way. The food is crazy, crazy good. Service is tops. Atmosphere is clean, spacious and super chill, inside and out.

The vibes and decore were amazing! Staff was perfect! I really like the pay before you eat concept because you don’t feel rushed to pay and can enjoy your meal. I had the blackened shrimp Alfredo and it looked to die for!

But unfortunately my stomach and tastebuds didn’t agree. It had somewhat of a sour taste to it and I could only put down a quarter of it until I had to find refuge in the bathroom.

This is a best kept secret in coppell. Eric and Austin was a dynamic duo. Eric makes the best drinks ? ? but that's the Louisiana giving in him. This was our 1st time here but NOT our last!!!

I had the cinnamon roll french toast and it was COVERED with sugary syrup. I had to eat around the edges because it got soggy before I had a chance to eat it. Not bad, just not a fan of soggy bread. The Mimosa flight was excellent. Not a bad price and delicious. The breakfast sausage and eggs were cooked perfectly. I would definitely come back for the flight. They had plenty to try on the menu, so you have a nice variety to choose from.

The restaurant was nice. The atmosphere was nice as well. As soon as I walked in, there was a patron with a huge dog. If I was alone, I would have likely left. Small dogs are somewhat ok. Great Danes are too much for me.
