Applebee's Grill + Bar

I don't normally post reviews but our server Destiny was absolutely amazing this afternoon, very sweet girl and made sure all of our meals and drinks came out perfectly made sure this experience was one of the best we've had Applebee's in a few years.

Appetizers for late dinner

Granted we were a large party but the restaurant was empty which you would imagine would be pretty good timing but it was not. 3.5 hours later. Most of the party ordered appetizers which took over an hour. Drinks also took an hour to get. The bills were completely wrong and took almost an hour to fix. Poor server had no help from the manager or other servers. Wouldn’t recommend for larger parties.

Extremely slow for service. Waited almost 1hrs for drinks and food later. Didn't leave to 3 1/2hrs later. Would not recommend. Slow

I was very disappointed in our dining experience. Our server was inattentive. He never came to the table to ask about drink refills. We had no drinks for our meal as it took 45 minutes to be served the burgers we ordered.

We had to track him down to get the bill. When asked for the bill, rather than hand my husband the bill as he was already at the register in the bar, our server walks across the restaurant and slaps the bill on the table.

The food was also disappointing. The prices are triple what they were a few years ago and the serving sizes are smaller.

The food didn't taste very well. The tomato soup that came with the grilled cheese burger did not taste like tomato soup. It was a strange flavor and texture. It didn't look appealing or appetizing.

The entire evening was a major let down. The black walls and ceiling give the feeling of being in a dreary, dark, bar not a family restaurant.

There are many other dining establishments in Corpus Christi. My recommendation is to visit one of them.

Service was excellent! I had the bourbon steak which tasted great but a little on the tough side but I would order it again.

I was greeted after a few minutes of waiting at the podium. I didn't think they had any staff working. I was sat down by a grumpy, unfriendly host. The table was sticky. It's not a dirty sticky but an old sticky. I ordered a doctor pepper and the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. They brought my doctor pepper in a to go cup. The food had so much garlic on top of it i had to scrap it off. The onions and mushrooms had been fried to black tasteless mush. I did watch and see that they, in fact, had employess present, but they are not working. 1 guy was wandering around chewing on his fingernails. Handing food and stuff out. I lost my appetite at that point. I can see why the brand is fading out.

I have to give a SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT to our server, Khylie! Thank you for your AMAZING and GREAT customer service. We had come in after 9:00 pm and Khylie was great from when we were sat down until she brought our check. Keep up the awesome work ethic -- you are a great asset to the restaurant and your hard work did not go unnoticed. Our food and apps were on point - absolutely delicious! Thank you to manager JR for taking my call yesterday -- you all have wonderful customer service and wish you much success. Can't wait to visit again the next time we are in Corpus Christie. . .

No sweet tea restrooms dirty and not clean inside

My mom just moved over here and me and my fiancé came to visit. We came to this location to grab lunch before we drive all the way back to San Marcos area, the server we got was very slow. It took 15 minutes to receive our drinks we also ordered our food when we ordered our drinks. Our food took over an hour to get delivered to our table. The server also did not keep up with how we were doing with our food and if we needed drink refills. I was very disappointed with the service we received here today and more than likely will not be back.
