El Palenque is aka the sleeper. This is one of the most outstanding establishments and local businesses in Corpus Christi. The two sisters that work there are absolutely phenomenal and some of the sweetest people I've ever met. I love the atmosphere. The food is amazing. And you are going to leave very full and satisfied

Came to Corpus Cristi for a friend’s funeral . With very short notice by me , I asked to have 40 tacos made to take to share at the reception. Without hesitation the order was accepted. I got great comments on the food and asked where did it come from? I Thank You all for your help and great food . You made a lot of us happy on such a sad occasion. God Bless You all .

I love this place. It is ran mostly by two sisters who both are very enjoyable and friendly. The atmosphere is friendly and family-oriented. The food is well proportioned and decently priced and a good variety. Service time is quick. They have a drive-thru and you can call in to go orders. They have daily specials and I love their sweet tea. I also love their tortillas big and fluffy hot and fresh every time.Hours are Monday through Friday 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 12:30. I would recommend this place to anybody.
Parking: Plenty of parking almost all the way around the building
Kid-friendliness: Open floor plan, friendly staff, kid portion options
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible outside and inside, as well as seating.

We couldn't decide on where to go for lunch, we were delighted to have stopped there for sure! We had the Caldo de Res and it was just one of the best I've ever had! We will most definitely be going again!

Best carne guisada tacos! Been coming here for over a decade and I've never been disappointed. Small family owned restaurant that treats you like you're a part of theirs!Friendly service that they greet you by name, also their tortillas are so delicious. Always yummy and fluffy! Reasonable prices, a must try if you've never been.
They treat you like family.

I won't be coming back. Service was absolutely terrible... took forever but didn't properly take my order and took forever to come back ? I had to ask for the drinks for my kids several times and then she only came back with one drink for two kids. I had to ask again and she didn't wait for me to request no ice for my toddler. She was not remotely friendly. The tacos barely had filling, corn tortillas are store bought, the flour tortillas are gross and have a strange texture. Not worth the price.I live nearby but didn't guess it was open all these years because no one is ever here. Parking lot is usually empty.

Only if there was no other place or way to get food would I go here again.Poor service, food quality is low, and the tortillas resembled pita bread.
