Went with friends and I had no idea what to order. So I followed their lead and I got the Bento box with sesame chicken, fried rice, miso soup, a salad with a different but delicious dressing, and some type of sushi rolls. I have never eaten sushi rolls and was hesitant to do so, but these were really good. Likewise, the entire meal was delicious and I literally ate everything on my unique, divided tray. I especially enjoyed their miso soup, something I have never eaten before. They also served sliced ginger and that was a new taste sensation, as well. The only downside was I put some of the green paste on a sushi roll and it nearly blew my head off! I didn't realize just how powerful wasabi is... I won't make that mistake again. The waitress was very nice and although the exterior of the restaurant is nondescript, I liked the interior. I live a few minutes away and never realized this little jewel was close by. Recommended.

My husband and I go here periodically for good sushi in the area. We love their food and the fish is always good quality. I've never felt like I was getting anything less than fresh seafood. The gyozas are super delish, the pork Buns are probably some of the best I've had in Texas.

Was sssooo good! Neat, clean, and very good prices for the best sushi and Shashimi I have had here in Corpus!

Visited Kyoto again tonight. Awesome service and wonderful food. Miso soup was amazing. Dumpling always a favorite. We also tried the avocado bom (pictured) which was so delicious.

Large menu with a broad variety of Japanese and some Chinese favorites. It's not a huge place, less than 40 tables and two servers plus one hostess were swarming busily around, yet service was spotty and a bit unimpressive. There were two Sushi chefs visible at the counter, and a kitchen in back presumably with more general cooks. In our party of four, food arrived for two people an uncomfortable many minutes before it arrived for the third person. After that, the fourth person waited entirely too long for any hint of food, and the first two people were nearly finished by the time he received his order. Any reasonable establishment would have apologized and comp'd his meal. No hint of this here. I ordered the Bento Box with a Spicy Tuna roll and General Tso's Chicken. The roll was noticably warm instead of cool, and the chicken was all dried up and crispy - way too tough to enjoy, and I left half of it behind. There was a big rush right about 6pm when we were seated, but things ran so slowly that it was after 7pm before we all finished eating. By then, many tables were emptying out. I realize that in July 2022 it's still difficult to staff service industry jobs, but they did not appear to be in any way short handed. The other three people in our party enjoyed their meals, including the one who was served way late. This is a small business, and the cook who served my plate of dried and crispy General Tso's obviously wasn't caring about the quality of the food. Every plate matters, and your reputation is built on each plate served. Roll the dice if you will, and your odds appear to be about 75% for getting good food, but don't plan on eating at the same time as the rest of your party. I'm rating Kyoto 3 stars, because that's about "average.". It could be much better.

This place was bomb ? we got 2 appetizers. Dumpling and rangoons each had 6 pieces. The plates were very filling and came with everything you see pictured my favorite egg drop soup, fried rice was very good too ??✨it was $54 dollars for everything but to me it was super worth it because everything was delicious, well except the salad it has a weird dressing and me and my friend didn't care for it ? but I won't penalize them for it! It was a nice quiet place for lunch and that's cause we went on the weekend and it wasn't packed at all! I would recommend this place super good. Very good for an Asian restaurant ?

Small restaurant with a good vibe. The sushi was good and we received great service. A bit pricey however.

Came in first time to try for lunch. Very quiet maybe 4 tables. Waited for someone to take a drink order. Asian man comes to the table and I ask for a coke. His reply was huh? He disappears for quite a bit. I get up to ask another server if she knew what happened to him. She starts yelling he’s the sushi chef and they are shorthanded and if we didn’t like it we could leave. Which we promptly did. We guess with four whole tables she was too busy. And with four tables they didn’t need the expensive lunch tab we would have provided. Never going back

Food was decent (not worth $20 a roll when half the flavor is from mayo) - service sucked. The manager lady was nice enough; I wish she'd been my server, probably would have communicated better than the dude that was.Won't be back, won't recommend it, and I'm OK with that.I hope the owners are able to take pride in their place and hire better people to build what could be a really awesome place.

Just perfect. You'll want to start out with this roll....i forget what it is called, but it is wrapped in cucumber and swimming in this amazing plum wine suace and it is just so fresh and the perfect starter before you gorge yourself on all the other incredible rolls they offer there. Do leave just barely enough room for all three flavors of mochi and you will have experienced it... and it is good.

I must preface that I am editing my post today March 30th, 2022, and reducing it from 4 stars to 1 star. I’m keeping the original post intact at the end, but anyone interested in dining here should read my food poisoning problem first.I went to Kyoto for lunch two weeks ago March 21st 2022 on a Monday and everything was per usual. However, that evening my stomach started making strange noises and cramping and I got really sick for about 24 hours, pretty much bed-ridden. At the time I couldn’t really blame Kyoto, because I wasn’t 100% sure.Fast forward a week later on March 28th 2022, and I’m back for dinner with my Partner. She and I get our usual. This is where I notice things have seemingly changed over the past couple months. The waiter brings out two bowls of squid salad, which comes with the Love Boat C that we ordered. We just figured he was hooking us up with an extra bowl, as it’s not a pricey item. When it comes to checkout I notice we are being billed for two squid salads. I point out to the waiter that it comes with the Love Boat C, and he proceeds to correct it by removing one bowl and charging us for the extra one we didn’t even order. I don’t argue and I pay it even though I don’t think I should have, and I tipped 20+ percent. Some things are just not worth arguing about, but I think it was bad service. I mean, you’re not losing much on a 5 dollar squid salad by comping your regular customer. Now on to the worst part of this experience…We leave Kyoto and go straight home. My Partner didn’t eat anything all day except Kyoto. As soon as she’s home, she started experiencing stomach cramps and growling, and the same symptoms I experienced the week prior. I also started feeling some minor illness again! She was then sick for about 24 hours, but mine wasn’t nearly as bad as it was the week prior and not as bad as hers this time.Food poisoning for me in two weeks and also my partner in the second week when we dined at same place is a pattern. It’s really a shame because that was our usual spot for sushi. I can no longer recommend this venue, and we have attempted to reach the local Health Department. Food poisoning is serious and can cause major problems. I hope they can bounce back, solve their problems, and make it relevant again but I cannot stomach the idea of returning any time soon.Original Post:The food quality is good. The sushi chefs are good. The ambiance is very casual and typically the service is good. We usually get the Boat C, which also comes with a salad of your choice (Seaweed or Squid) which we usually get the squid salad. It’s not a very nice looking establishment (borderline dive) and the wine selection could use some improvement, but the food makes up for it. I recommend it for family type outings but it’s not the place to impress company like business clients, nor first dates. We have also done carry-out there.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. Service was beyond phenomenal, especially from our server Kevin. Highly recommend the yellow dragon roll, and the yellow tail nigiri. Never been so pleased with a restaurant experience before, will definitely be returning!!!
