I have been going to Sonny's for over 20 yrs. Through out the years the food quality has gone down. The taste is not there anymore.

Wooow charge me 1250 for enchiladas plate plus 350 to add beef with a large lemonade 21$ for 1 person and food was messy never again
I got there about 10 minutes before they're closing time of 2:00 p.m., so I was not able to enjoy the dine-in experience. They were very friendly and told me they had just enough barbacoa for one last taco. I ordered that and a small order of chicharrones. I was pleasantly surprised by both of my orders. The barbacoa was not dripping in oil like other places I've visited, and it tasted great. I also expected a crunchy chicharrones snack like I would get at a gas station, but these were not like that. These are basically fried pork chop chunks. Each chunk had more meat than fat. The fat was neither crispy nor chewy. My teeth easily cut through the fat like a pastry. I like my chicharrones being a little salty, so I added some salt and pepper and dipped each bite into their delicious red salsa that was not too hot. They offered hotter salsas if I wanted. The morsels were so big that a small order of chicharrones could have been an entree by itself or enjoy them with a small rice and beans on the side. I felt the urge to finish them off in one sitting so they won't lose their freshness, but the next time I visit I want to bring a sealable container so that I can enjoy it as a snack through out the day.

We have lived here for years and never stopped here. I was close by , looked at reviews, and felt we needed to try this place. I had a crispy taco , the shell held up to the last bite , no crumbling or getting soggy in my first few bites. I also had a tostada. The beans were very good, and the fact they put cheese next, so it melted , really made a difference. I loved the hot sauce but was a little disappointed, the one I wanted to try . It was called fireball, I think , and only available Friday , Saturday, and Sunday. We took home chicharons for later , a must they are bite size , and not tough, it does not feel like your teeth are coming out and each one had a great meat to fat ratio. I will drive thru just for
r those. So go in an off
time , so you can park and get a table. It's worth the
trouble.

My first time visiting this place and the food here was delicious, friendly staff, and no wait. I will be back to try other menu items.

I always recommend this place to my family from out of town. It used to be great. I went today with my family from Colorado and I was embarrassed. Food was horrible, cold, chicharrones were nothing but manteca and price is not cheap. Never again 😒

Great food but a little expensive
Prices high for a barbacoa Taco 5 dollars and some change. It did not taste good and smelled like it was a couple of days old. It was also very dry. The bacon and egg taco was good.
I love the food at this place, ITS AMAZING !!
Sonny's is probably the best Mexican Food in the city imo. Chicharones, frijoles, homemade tortillas. I could go on & on about all the great food at this place. This is QUALITY MEXICAN FOOD, there are not a lot of options like this place !!
I love the variety of salsa they offer. The chicharonnes are THE best!
