Had breakfast here this morning and it definitely earns a spot on my go-to list for non-greasy barbacoa. Got 4 tacos: 2 Barbacoa, a Machacado, and a Carne Guisada. The tortillas were excellent, not too thick, not too thin. The barbacoa was flavorful and tender without being oily. Machacado and carne guisada were just okay, could use a bit more punch. I wish the salsa verde cups were filled to the top, I kept wanting more with every taco. Overall, great stop for a clean, satisfying breakfast.

Came here for breakfast. Ordered chorizo w/egg plate and the breakfast was ok but what really helped me in the decision of giving this restaurant a 1 star review was the beans were canned beans. I did ask to confirm 😳

Another round of tasty breakfast tacos. Even a month later the tacos were still good. ty
O'my 😋, the carne guisada taco was good. I've been trying to find within means the flavor that matched a restaurant I use to eat at up north.
🙅🏾‍♀️No Jalisco, Hacienda Vieja, El Potro or La Ribera could match it. I could cry bc Ive been here 11 yrs. looking for that taste, and texture.

Even though I'm darting across the galaxy in my Xwing fighter, fighting the Evil Empire, I do try do drop in and get my coragasada tacos fix every chance I get. The only problem I have is I always get ticketed for parking a spaceship outside. There are no sign that I can't park a spaceship there. Anyone have a handicap parking pass I can use?

We stopped in to try the barbacoa. We're from San Antonio and drove over from the island on our way back home. I ordered the barbacoa and my husband ordered the carne guisada. Both of our plates were tasty and so good. The barbacoa was not greasy and the carne guisada was flavorful and cooked just right. Our server was attentive and nice. We will be back when we visit.

To be honest, this is my second time eating at Southside Barbacoa. The first time was a few years back, and I had the barbacoa taco. If remember right, it was very good. This time around, I tried the Cheese Enchiladas plate. Two cheese enchiladas smothered in chili gravy and topped with melted cheese. The plate comes with rice and beans plus corn or flour tortillas. Make sure to arrive early as it gets busy around lunchtime and super busy on Saturdays.
