To be honest, this is my second time eating at Southside Barbacoa. The first time was a few years back, and I had the barbacoa taco. If remember right, it was very good. This time around, I tried the Cheese Enchiladas plate. Two cheese enchiladas smothered in chili gravy and topped with melted cheese. The plate comes with rice and beans plus corn or flour tortillas. Make sure to arrive early as it gets busy around lunchtime and super busy on Saturdays.
Where to start with this place. The people working here are always welcoming and make you feel like family, so the atmosphere alone is fantastic. But the food, my God. The food here is simply amazing. The flour tortillas remind me of my grandma's, so I know they're homemade and made the right way. I haven't got around to trying lunch here yet but I can only imagine it's great. The breakfast tacos though, hands down the best in Corpus and surrounding area.
Food was great menudo amazing and I’m picky so that says a lot I can’t seem to find good authentic Mexican food here in Corpus Christi this reminded me of the Valley Mexican food which is the best btw definitely recommend and coming back it will be my new favorite spot
