The bartender was rude and made us feel unwelcome. We stopped in for one drink while celebrating a birthday during a girls’ night out. There were hardly any customers, yet we were told we were being too loud and disturbing others. When we politely asked one of the two men at the bar if we were bothering him, the bartender told us not to involve other customers. Overall, it was an uncomfortable experience. Do not go here if you’re looking to laugh and have a good time.

My personal favorite bar in Corpus. Never had a bad time, always had exceptional service given how busy it always seems to be.

Excellent staff. I had the honor of meeting the owner and management. What an elegant and assertive person who knows the needs of her clientele.

I have represented several establishments and I can say the Annex is a welcoming and cordial environment. The drinks were complimented as being excellent and tasty. The band was amazing and the staff made all my guests feel at home. I strongly recommend a party or gathering at this fine establishment any time. 5 stars.

I attempted to go to the Annex, in Corpus Christi, to see a band that I follow in that area. I was late, due to the fact I have 3 kids who all had different things in the area happening at once. I arrived at approximately 1040, at which time I said hello to the band as they played and took a short video and a few pictures to send to them after the show. Within moments the song ended and the drummer signaled me over asking if I would get him a drink, a beer and a water, to which I gladly said yes. I soon realized that because I had kids to take care of later, I wasn't planning on drinking so Id left my cards and money in my vehicle. So, I ran back to my car, then went to the bar to get his Modelo and a water. At first, the bartender wouldn't acknowledge me at all. So I attempted to go to the other one that was there. I saw the 2 of them exchange whispers, then I tried to wave one of them down. The main (Id have to guess, big glasses, dark hair) bartender came up to me and said "we won't be serving you this evening and you need to leave". I was obviously very confused, as Id only been there less than 5 minutes, I hadn't even had a single drink yet, and I didn't even know what she was talking about. No one did. So I asked her why, what made her decide not to serve me. And she got irate and flashy as if I was causing a scene or being belligerent or something. Still, completely taken back Im looking around at other customers who are seeing this and we're all just so confused. So, I see and hear her adamant demands and turn to tell the drummer and band that I couldn't get their drink, and I wait there for my friends who were in the bathroom so I can tell them I can't stay and I won't be served. One of said friends had gotten me a mixed drink that I didn't know about yet, and when she came back and handed it to me. I told her what happened while attempting to at least take a drink of this $12 drink my friend bought without my knowledge, when this bartender called for the door guy and her other bar help. She told them to escort me out, and she yelled she was going to call the cops and for me to put the drink down. Mind you, this is literally all within the span of a4-8 minute visit, in its entirety, and, my very first stop after a very long day of work and parenting. The door guy and bar help came up to me just crazy, belligerent and weird, demanding I leave, screaming and yelling, as if Id caused some sort of disturbance or was intoxicated or being combative or something. Sheer unwarranted humiliation. It was so confusing and so weird. Meanwhile me and my friends and the band are all looking around at each other wondering what in the world is even going on or why this scene was even necessary. As a business owner and investor in this community I was appalled and absolutely mind blown at how our very short visit to this established went. For no just or logical reason at all. I support many small businesses, bars, venues and local bands in the area, and have for years, with nothing like the experience I had at the annex. I follow the bands and venues in our community closely and bring in a lot of support when I attend. This particular night was no different than any other except that I was hostilitie and vehemently denied service for no reason at all, whatsoever. Then was humiliated and escorted out as if Id been some sort of problem, or that I had caused some sort of disturbance or something. When I'm sure, video or surveillance could attest to otherwise. It was absurd, preposterous, humiliating and just disturbing. It happened so fast too, because my husband, who had followed me up there didn't even have time to find a parking spot before I'd been kicked out! As he was walking up, they were escorting me out and I didn't even know how to explain what had just happened because I didn't even know! I had no idea! What was that? Why? For what? It's still a mystery to all of us AND everyone we've talked to to gain some kind of

The drinks are tasty, the bartenders are friendly and the owners are amazing! What more could you need? Annex is also very clean with upper scale atmosphere and cocktails but a down-home, hanging-at-your-friend’s-house vibe. They have fun events throughout the month like pop culture trivia, ping-pong, and Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon-inspired chicken shit bingo. They are people, family and pet friendly. My golden retriever loves visiting and ordering head scratches and ice. She gets mad when we leave.

We went for hocus pocus trivia night. Service was so slow at the bar. Trivia was supposed to start at 6, didn't start until 6:40 and lasted until almost 8:30 just for 25 questions. We watched the team in front of us that won, Google every answer. So not sure what the point was.. but its an alright bar. Drinks are pricey if you're not drinking whats on special for the day. Also, apparently babies and children are allowed at this bar, which is super weird.
