I must say, I wish I would have learned about this place sooner. As a born and raised Corpus native, and someone who lived in places like Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio…. This place EASILY compares to any of the up-scale restaurants I have experienced in these big cities. It is such a unique experience that I feel so special when I eat here. I can’t say enough how they can even make the simplest thing taste expensive. I mean I will throw whatever money they want for this food lol. The employees are fantastic and the sweetest team I have met. You feel like you are family when you eat here. The food is ALWAYS so fresh and ready to eat, just like me when I walk in the door. 5 stars every day

Love this place. The attention to detail is impeccable. The food is so delicious. The servers are so kind. Chef Natalie brought a truly unique experience to Corpus. I’m very sad it will be closing, but have no doubt she will do more amazing things in her future. Thank you Chef Natalie for bringing your vision to life and sharing it with all who have had the pleasure of experiencing it.
This place is what dreams are made of. Every bite of your food is total bliss. You can tell the food is made with love. As to be expected this isn't a fast food restaurant so it takes some time for the food to come out, but is so worth the wait. While you wait you can sip and chat with ease knowing your food is being carefully handcrafted. The love that goes into every dish brings tears to your eyes while indulging. I don't get to go very often but when we do make it out it's like a new experience of love every time. The staff is always so welcoming and polite and cheff Natalie is a blessing to bring such amazing work from her heart to life on your plate. Every detail in the restaurant is perfect. The layout of the tables, the glasses you drink from, the weight of the silverware in your hand. It's like she treats you like you're royalty. Such a wonderful experience. Thank you for that ?

Referred by a friend. We were looking forward to it based on recommendations but sadly very disappointed. Coming from the DFW area we know and upscale restaurants.
First off, we couldn’t even find the location because they don’t have a sign to indicate the name of the restaurant.
This is set in between one of those old mini malls and the setting is small and more like a Denny’s.
we had to ask how they operated, and because there was no one to explain.
They told us to pick a table. Sunday’s menu happened to be brunch. The menu said we could pick three items for $27. So we each picked our three items. you do this at the cash register and you have to pre-pay the tip in advance so we paid $87 for what we anticipated to be a great meal.
Wrong. They brought the items separately and we had to wait on each other so we decided to share while we waited for them to keep cooking.
They got our order wrong and rudely insisted that it was our mistake.
We had ordered a separate item of each so we could taste the different option so they grudgingly said that they would bring us the missing steak.
We were surprised that they use tin plates to serve, so-called fancy meals on, with wax paper lined on the bottom, but nonetheless tried to remain optimistic.
The food tastes good, but is overpriced, and the service is poor. They chitchat a lot among themselves and take their time.
We paid two orders of three items each, and only one of us got the three items and the other two items. The missing item was a steak. When I went and asked them to just pack it to go they said there was no steak pending.
Even though they screwed up our order from the beginning, there was still an item missing that they were not even going to acknowledge or bring to us until we asked for it. at that point, they said they would give us potatoes for the missing item. The potato serving is like the boxed potato scallops with a half raw egg on the top.
We declined the egg and potato and asked what happened to the steak and they kept trying to push the potato and egg on us.
Because they had taken so long to acknowledge the missing item, we had shared the steak and she rudely pointed out that we both had steak on our plates so what was the problem?
We clarified that we had to share the steak.
In our experience, we have never had to defend ourselves in such a petty way. Even if mistakes are made our experiences that even when we say it’s OK professional restaurant quickly makes up for it over and above. Those are the ones that we gladly over and above as well.
Keep in mind this place wants their tip ahead of time, which we know now why. We do not recommend this place and don’t plan to return.
Save your money!

The food was good but not extraordinary, the chicken with bbq sauce tasted like the chicken bbq from a gas station sandwich she even said it was shredded chicken with a store bought bottle of bbq sauce. I expected more for money I paid. Also when I saw a video of the ribs she used from heb and I made a question comment inquiring about why she didn’t incorporate ingredients from local businesses like meat markets, farmers? She erased my comment! I will not support a business who can’t take criticism or questions from customers who want to support local.

Brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert! Nothing compares to the Roughian. S’mores cookie till I die💖. Natalie’s meals are adventurous and delicious. Never had a meal that disappointed! Treat yourself to a night out with great food and meet some new people! It’s a joy to have this experience in corpus.
I have never had a bad experience, and I leave with an expanded palate every single time. My better half and I love the vibes of Natalie’s dinners, and I always recommend the Taylor Swift themed ones.
Cool, cool, cool.

Love! Their Sunday brunch is walk-in available and made to order. Their weekday dinners are preset menus where you purchase a ticket and you join for a multi course dinner. The building is cozy and there are only 4 tables. The tables are large and set to encourage a banquet or family gathering. The dinners are such a fun experience! Accessible building, clean and spacious/accessible restroom, adorable decor. Their cocktail menu is very fun! Coffee is good, sadly no decaf. We've gone for both brunch and for the preset Paris showcase dinner. My husband's favorite so far is the blackberry almond croissants. He raves about them. I really enjoyed the schneckens at brunch and my absolute favorite at dinner was the chicken, bacon, white bean saute. (It reminded me of my Granny's Thanksgiving dinners) Everything was delicious and both times we left with clean plates and full bellies. I highly recommend this for the amazing flavors as well as the fun atmosphere and experience. It feels like a fancy place where you might need to dress up but they are very welcoming and you can feel comfortable in just jeans and a T-shirt too.
Wheelchair accessibility: Excellent accessibility. The bathroom is large and spacious with hand rails and a sink you can roll under. The tables are long and have plenty of space to maneuver around. It's on the first floor and the door has no sticks or tricks or is overly difficult or heavy. The sidewalk has a ramp up from the parking lot.

Everything I have ever had from The Roughian was incredible and it just keeps getting better!!
I’m really disappointed. I reached out to Natalie about a private event and she quickly responded with enthusiasm and excitement and sent me the link to fill out the online form, and so I did that day. With that response I was very excited too! But, I submitted that 4 days ago and have not had a response. I have even sent follow up emails, left voicemail, and sent a message on messenger. I just would have wished that if this wasn’t something that she could do, then to have just let me know.

This was my first visit to The Roughian, at their new brick and mortar establishment, and I was thoroughly impressed just like I was at a dinner awhile back. The orange and cranberry slice was bomb, and the steak? Cooked to a perfect medium rare, it was tender just the way I prefer.

Dining at The Roughian is more than just "going out to dinner." It is a dining experience more like being invited to a friend's house to sample foods that she created just for you. Natalie's explanations of what your next course will be are an integral part of the experience and help you to appreciate your upcoming next course. The food is simply scrumptious. The courses blend together well and the portion-sizes are "normal", not the huge portions provided, these days, by so many restaurants who somehow equate portion size with quality. With a maximum of 32 guests, the noise level is low and it's easy to carry on a conversation with those at your table. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely return.
