The atmosphere is amazing and filled with Hispanic legends and Mexican decorations. The service is always great and this place has been a staple for me my whole life. They serve charro beans with every entree and they are always flavorful. This time my dad had ordered their big taco and I ordered the mini tacos. The food is so filling we always have some to take home, I definitely recommend this place!

The 1ft taco has barely any meat and the beef looks like chicken. This is absolutely not authentic Mexican food$42 for fake Mexican food.I still ate it ??? the salsa tasted like is was made with dirty oil. Won't be going back.

I've been told to try this place if you are looking for authentic Mexican food, not Tex Mex. I brought someone who is from El Paso and can get frustrated with the Tex Mex here. The sweet tea he said reminded him of home and referenced the scene in Ratatouille where the critic ate the food and was transported back home. Seems a bit dramatic for sweet tea, but I'll take his word for it. I'm pretty sure it's just tea and sugar. I thought the place was absolutely adorable. They have a little haunted hallway right now and that tickled me pink. My son was excited about it too until he found out that Halloween animatronics in the dark he does actually find scary. My food was great, I got the fish tacos, my son chalupas, and my picky eater got gorditas. It isn't what he was used to at home but the ground beef came with papas inside made just like his grandma and mama. It's a little homey hole in the wall restaurant that I would definitely recommend to any out of towners and Corpus Christians alike.

This is not TEX MEX. We went to lunch today, it’s been a while since we’ve been here. We arrived around 12:45 and seating was easy. I ordered the # 5 EL Zarape, one foot long homemade flour taco with refried beans. beef and chicken, lettuce, tomato, white cheese, and avocado. While you are waiting the owner / server brought us a cup of borracho beans (you get this instead of chips). The beans are so good I could drink the juice by the glass. Their tortillas are all made in house and that foot long taco was really good. There is a bottle of green sauce on the table, it is hot but not too hot, taste it before you put a lot on your food. If you run out of beans, just ask and another cup is on its way. The decor is really festive and fun. We look forward to coming back soon.

I love all the stuff in here , on the walls , hanging from the ceiling. I had a Gringada , and it is a version of a quesidilla added shredded beef , perfectly seasoned. The GIANT tortilla is made from scratch in house and they use several different cheeses. Perfectly melted!! The charro beans are a little spicy for me , but they do taste delicious. Please don't feel the need to order chips and salsa , you won't need it. In fact, I feel like I could have shared my lunch.

Wow! Absolutely delicious - not Tex-Mex typical offerings. The beans (rather than chips) are so good. Dressed beers (salt/lime) in frosty mugs and a side of peanuts! Wonderful freshly prepared dishes with flair and depth of flavor. Reasonable prices, great service and authentic Mexican atmosphere. Seriously. Come here.

Few staff speak English, prices were fair, but my street tacos were very greasy.
