A place steeped in history and full of things worth seeing

Must stop for all history buffs! This isn’t just a ship, it’s an extensive museum and bigger than life historical experience. We only had an 1.5 hours but you could spend all day if you were to go through everything. We also stood on the flight deck and watched dolphins in the bay, that was nice. Bring a swim suit too, they’re a small beach right there. Great stop!

The aircraft carrier is truly immense and imposing! There are so many things to see in the various compartments: garage, take-off/landing deck, kitchens, engine room, mess hall, medical rooms, emergency rooms, pilot briefing rooms... etc. It's a real floating city! Not to be missed!

We visited the USS Lexington on our trip to Corpus. This is a fantastic piece of American history. The huge ship is a head to toe museum. There is a LOT of walking and stairs. you will need to be able to climb steep stairs/ladders if you want to go down into the ship.To see the flight deck and airplanes there is an elevator or stairs.Down below deck are four floors of displays and a first hand look at life on deck. There is a small restaurant and a shop; as well as an extra feature of an escape room. There is plenty of (paid) parking and a tram that will take you from the street all the way up the ramp to the entrance. For US history fans, airplane/ship enthusiasts, or looking for a neat way to spend a few hours, this is the place to check out.

Experience was good, staff is friendly and ship is easy to navigate on your own. Recommend eating before or after the cafe is very mediocre, you can tell right away that’s it’s frozen food also the cafe was very expensive not worth it for sure.

We had a great time visiting. Took a star off because the main exhibit is not accessible and we visited with my mother. She had to miss that largest part of the tour. Which was a shame.Other than that, very interesting and educational. Make sure to look overboard! We saw tons of dolphins!

Amazing. Just fyi im 6'4" 320 pounds and i was able to navigate through each tour section with ease. I had to tilt my head a few times, that it. I think you need at least 4hours minimum to go through the whole ship. There is an amazing model collection in the lower decks. Lots of stuff to read. Give yourself plenty of time to tour it.

Very reasonable for what they are doing there. Everyone should take the time to see this and truly learn what it was like for our sailors surviving and dying aboard these amazing WWII vessels. They also do their best for disabled There is a tram to take you up to the ship and the have wheelchairs available. They just can’t go on most of the tours. There is tons of ladders / stairs to climb up and down.

Totally amazing. You can walk all levels of this ship unguided. They have a cafe to get food. They have WW2 movies and one is 3D.The stairs are steep, I mean steep. Thank goodness they have an ELEVATOR for their not so athletic visitors. The elevator even goes to the aircraft on display on the top level.Last thing, they have a side x side pulling trailers with seats so you can ride comfortably to the ship from where the ramp starts . He greatly appreciated tips.Military discount was nice and appreciated.

This is a fun boat to see! They have 5 walk through tours though parts of the boat and they tell about the life being on the boat and some other things. When we went the top deck was really windy and annoying so I would suggest not going on a windy day but other than that it was really fun. Photos: one is of the only escalator in the ship the other is one of the planes on the top.

I recently had the privilege of touring the USS Lexington, CV-16, a World War II-vintage Essex Class aircraft carrier, and it was an unforgettable experience! I was fascinated by the rich history and sheer scale of the ship. What really surprised me was the level of self-sufficiency on board - from an operating room to a dentist, hair salon, and more, it was like a small town at sea. The attention to detail and care that has gone into preserving this piece of history is remarkable.During my visit, I was also impressed by the amenities available to visitors. There is a dining area with a decent size and a variety of food options available for purchase. Additionally, the gift store offers a great selection of souvenirs at different price points, so you can find something to fit your budget. And for an extra thrill, there's even a simulator experience available for a fee of $5 per person.Overall, I left with a deep appreciation for the USS Lexington and its role in shaping our world. If you're interested in history, military service, or just want to experience something unique, I highly recommend a visit to this iconic aircraft carrier.

There are 5 self-guided tours on the ship. All interesting and also surprising things such as the infirmary.Maybe a tad expensive, but still worth it.The parking lot is on the small side.Quite curt at the cash register, but don't let that spoil the fun.
