First of all, it smells amazing as soon as you walk in. Fresh bread literally pulling you right in. We could see someone actually mixing dough and baking. A baby was as excited about that as we were. The menu size is perfect, not too many items and still something for everyone. We really appreciated being able to get a hard copy of the menu to hold while in line vs a QR code or menu on the wall. I love that the coffee is self serve with choices of syrup and cream options. They...read full review
Kouign aman was the best I've ever tasted. Lemon merenge tarts were fabulous! Light flaky crust with filling that was just the right amount of tartness. And oh the big round bread...was it sourdough?
The best bakery! Love the vibe and the pastries. Keep up the great work chef and staff!

Water Street Central Kitchen is a popular restaurant known for its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. It offers a variety of baked goods, with the Kouign Amann being the best ever tasted and the Almond Croissant praised as the best the reviewer has had anywhere. The "Front Porch" remains a beloved choice for a light breakfast or brunch, especially for those who enjoy its Pimento Cheese spread. The "Lox & Everything" and "Adam & Eve" are personal favorites, considered exceptional choices by many.
Recent reviews highlight the noticeable improvement in quality and freshness of all products, with the bakery now offering higher quality treats. The chef’s expertise is evident in every bite, making it a must-visit for pastry lovers. Visitors also appreciate the great prices and the excellent lemon cake, along with the friendly staff that enhances the overall experience. The Cranberry Orange scone is especially praised for being so good, and the Key Lime pies with raspberry drizzle are loved by many. Customers have enjoyed pastries like the chocolate croissant and banana Nutella muffin, describing them as amazing and one of the best things they've ever eaten.
The atmosphere is highly appreciated, and many find the place a great spot for enjoying a cozy meal. However, some mention that the drinks menu could be larger, and there was a note about a bus boy bin being near the front door, which detracts from the view while sitting by the window. Overall, the staff is friendly, and the prices are considered great. Some visitors also tried the toast with salmon and cucumber, finding it enjoyable, and the Maple Bacon Doughnut is noted as delicious. Although most experiences are positive, there was at least one instance where a customer experienced a waiting time for service.
