Got the small ribeye. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Fried okra was delicious! Great size salad. Kind waitress!

Delicious homemade tasting fried chicken sandwich on sourdough bread. The homemade fries made this lunch feel like a gourmet meal. Service is also top notch. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, kind, thoughtful, and attentive The ambiance is themed country town and clean yet not 5 star for me.

Quite simply the best Texas BBQ, went there twice. Once for steak night, get there early, they run out quick. Second visit I got the three meat choice and got brisket, smoked turkey and sausage. Everything was perfect. Real cowboys with six shooters and country music live. Truly authentic Texas. Also, cocunut merringe pie sits 8 inches high, wow

Staff was friendly and atmosphere was okay. But the whole purpose of going to a restaurant is the food and my experience wasn't great. I ordered the steak fingers and they were soggy. I've never had a moisturized steak finger before so it was weird. The burgers on other customers plates looked pretty good though.

Nice little place is a win! Stop here and you won’t be disappointed. We gave this place a shot when passing through cross plains. The outside sign was hard to see since we didn’t know where it was. It’s on the corner btw when google maps is giving you directions. A unique pleasant backwoods country vibe is inside. We got home cook meals that hit the spot. The service was also extremely excellent. I got a small chicken fried steak with homemade real mash potatoes. The white gravy was made from a package, it was still good. The fried okra was made crispy & tasty. The ranch dressing was homemade so plus on that. Bacon cheese burger was excellent with homemade potato steak size fries. The presentation of food on plates also appreciated.

We ate lunch here last Saturday on the way to visiting the Robert E. Howard Museum. The Chicken Fried Steak (real steak, not a hamburger patty) was excellent, the drinks cold, and the service friendly. A totally enjoyable experience.Parking: We were there on Saturday. Plenty of parking spaces were available. I can't say how parking would be on a weekday.

We've passed by this business many times and finally stopped in for lunch on our way home after church. The food had a good flavor, seasoned just right. Our waitress was busy but good. Cute lil restaurant in an old building. TVs set up in the four booths. Football season is upon us. If your ever driving through Cross Plains TX, stop in. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Specials daily!
