I moved here from Houston 5 months ago and this is my favorite place to eat in town. The food is consistently top notch. The service is good, especially for a small town. My favorite dish is the carne asada, it comes with a cheese enchilada and your choice of 2 sides for $16! I always get refried beans and french fries, yum ?. But everything I've tried so far is really good, haven't tried everything yet, but I'm working on it! Oh, and the frozen margaritas are really good! Definitely worth stopping at Maya's anytime you're craving some consistently awesome food and service!

A little too noisy is all the bad that I can say about this traditional Mexican restaurant in Cuero, Texas. The food was average but good. The chicken fajita tacos contained cubed chicken rather than fajita strips, which was slightly disappointing, and the plate was served without pico on the side. The rice and beans were warm and flavorful and enough to satisfy my appetite. All in all, I got what I paid for, but I would have enjoyed a true fajita taco better. Cutting corners to stretch the amount of available food often leaves much to be desired at the table. Today, it was just ok at Maya's. Tomorrow may be better. When you're in town, give them a shot. If nothing else, the price is right.
