El Caribeño Puerto Rican Restaurant

Ave Maria purisima! This place was everything I needed and more. Let's talk about it! My husband and I have not had really authentic and delicious Puerto Rican food anywhere outside of our families homes and on the island itself. So when we found this little gem we did not have high hopes. But we gave it a try and now it is one of our favorite places. When my husband and I pulled up we could smell the delicious food immediately. The minute we walked in we were greeted so warmly and seated. My husband ordered the navideño which is arroz con gandules, pernil and a side of ensalada de papa. I got the arroz con habichuelas and carne frita y un jugo de parcha. We also got 2 empanadillas de carne as an appetizer. The vibe was great, music was playing..we were excited to try the food. They brought out the drinks and app quickly and it was SO GOOD. Then the main dishes were brought to us plated so beautifully. I started eating and was at a loss for words. Had a whole Ratatouille moment and started crying! As silly as that sounds, it's because I was instantly transported back to my childhood, sitting in my abuelas house in Puerto Rico eating arroz con habichuelas and being with family. Those beans were exactly like hers and I am so grateful to have had that experience. The carne was cooked just right, the pickled onions and chimi were a nice compliment. Everything was flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Any place that evokes such a emotional and beautiful experience like that through food is a place I will recommend to everyone and anyone I come across. I hope more people go to this restaurant and get to enjoy our cuisine. We will definitely be back!

I have not had the pleasure of eating Puerto Rican food in a restaurant that tasted like it was home made...until now. My wife cried, reminded of her Abuelita, like Anton Ego in ratatouille... The pernil, arroz con gandules, and potato salad was a Christmas party from my childhood. Her carne frita with white rice and beans, as good as it gets. Great empanadilla! I hope this small place succeeds and expands so people of all cultures get to enjoy its authentic Puerto Rican flavor.

Was hard to find a great puerto rican establishment with great food. I tried others but though this was 20 miles away I finally found the food outstanding. Taste like Abuelas. 🤪👅🤙

Oh my God! To all of my Puerto Rican people in Houston if you guys love to eat good Puerto Rican food I found an amazing restaurant not big, but it’s very nice clean and those boys can cook when I tell you they can cook. The food is amazing. Have been here several times and will be coming more times. They have and the pizza They have Alcapurias. I invite everyone to come. Try it and leave them a great review because they deserve it. Mama should be very proud of her boys.

I happened to catch El Caribeno having just started opening for breakfast on Sunday morning. This is an absolutely do not miss this place. The owners are always present and it is family run. The breakfast torta was absolutely phenomenal. You would think that there are only a few ways to make bacon eggs and cheese but these breakfast sandwiches are next level. Bacon is thick cut and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Also in our order was an Empa Del Campo that was an absolute sweet and savory with a fantastic balance. The restaurant is fantastically clean and has a nice open and airy decor. It was great experience and we will be going back again.

Came here twice, the first time they ran out of arroz con gandules so we ordered something else, came wrong!
Second time we came it was closed 12 on a Monday which they said it was open on website and at the front door

Great amazing authentic puertorrican food! The mofongo was divine, not dry, moist and very well seasoned! The chicharrón de pollo was delicious as well! Definitely telling everyone about this place! Que viva Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

I had lunch with my fiance. He is from PR and has been dying to try this restaurant. Everything he had me try was absolutely amazing. The empandas, tostadas, carnitas just to name a few were on point. I wish I had taken pictures. Thank you to our server Alexis. Very attentive and professional.
Highly recommend and we will be back.
