Have mixed feelings about this place When I compare it to the original location in Pearland, it is disappointing.
I selected the 2 meat plate (brisket and jalpeno cheese sauage with a extra 1/4th pound of brisket).n My total was 37.80.
In terms of technical merit, the brisket was done perfectly. I had a fresh brisket unwrapped when I went to the counter. It had a nice jiggle when it was placed on the cutting board. The problem was there was NO flavor to the brisket. It was like I was eating at Goode Co.
The japalpeno sausage was fine with a taut natural casing.
The sides were of good quality. Only thing I noticed that was off was the ham flavor was not a strong in the collard greens.
I was ok with eating here, the brisket was smoked excellently, but the pitmaster here needs to tell his crew to put more seasoning on their meat.

Had dinner yesterday w my family after the airshow and it was the best bbq ever. From the brisket and turkey to the sides (mashpotatoes, creamed corn, green beans and macnchz) it was all delicious and great portions. Even their tea is good. Wish they would open one in Katy. The atmosphere is nice and staff is great.

Bad service on a missing item in a delivery. While DoorDash shares responsibility for not checking the bag, Killen’s should have gotten it right in the first place. DoorDash made it right by delivering the rest of the order free after I called, but Killen’s should have tried to compensate me for lost time and inconvenience. Manager didn’t seem to care when I called. Throw in an I’m Sorry Cobbler or something.

Our regular Killen's BBQ is in Pearland. Was near the Cypress location recently. So, I stopped in for lunch and some take-out.
Same great BBQ at the Cypress location. But not the same great atmosphere because of the service. Like some others, my order was missing an item. This was easily corrected. More challenging was the noticeable lack of friendliness at the Cypress location. The staff at the Cypress location were polite. What just wasn't there is the genuine friendliness that goes with being the best BBQ around.

On Saturday, 9/14/2024, I bought 1lb of ribs and 1lb of brisket with a pint of cremed corn and 1 pint of collard greens to go. FIrst of all, this amount of food was $86.00 before tip. Food that is that expensive should be impeccable and this was far from that. Brisket....good, Pork ribs tasted like eating a bottle of course black pepper per bite. INsane amount of black pepper on the ribs. Please understand that I love pepper but this was inedible. WORSE yet was the creamed corn. The creamed corn was HOT......like full of cayenne pepper hot. Again, I love heat, but this was ridiculous in terms of how much heat was in this corn. I have had this corn before, and all that I can say is that the person who prepared this corn batch was either drunk or pissed. I will be surprised if Killens 290 lasts another year.
This was just a regular barbecue spot in an awesome location. The lack of a menu didn't help. There were a lot of options that we knew nothing about. The floors are an accident waiting to happen for some unknown and unsafe reason. You might slide from the counter to your seat. The staff was very nice though.
