If you like a little kick in your coleslaw. This is the place for you. Jalapeno in the coleslaw. Brisket was good, lean as we requested. I recommend Cypress Trail Hideout for your next BBQ craving.
had high hopes but, brisket was dry and way too salty. sweat tea not sweet. cucumber tomato salad no taste. the jalapeños sausage was a 2.95 upgrade. sons sandwhich was thrown together with void areas of nothing plus had hair in it. waitress was at first friendly but obviously annoyed we had issues with food. obvious this place is about atmosphere and short shorts on waitstaff vs. quality of food. should have gone to killens or even spring creek...

Nice little local restaurant with good BBQ dinners, sandwiches, and chicken fried steak. It has a great patio area, which families with kids enjoy. Weekends they have live entertainment which we enjoyed. Definitely will come back.

Went here with my husband for an early dinner after a busy day of running errands. The fried okra was my favorite - crunchy but not dried out. My husband really liked his pulled pork, and the pork belly bites were a great starter. Unfortunately, the brisket was lacking in flavor and tasted like a tender roast beef (not a lot of smoke flavor), as well the jalepeno cheddar sausage was a bit dried out. Overall though, this place has solid food and a great atmosphere - can definitely see us coming back for a laid back night out with friends and live music.

This is my favorite place to hang out with friends and family. Great service, food, patio, live music....
We visited the Cypress Trail Hideout on a Tuesday night for dinner. The restaurant wasn't too packed, but you can tell it can get busy on the weekends. We were seated by the hostess and given menus. We decided that we would order the 2 meat BBQ plate with Brisket and Wagyu Jalepeno Sausage with a side of mac n cheese and cole slaw. We also ordered the rib eye plate with a baked potato. The BBQ was good, nice flavor that complements the Mac n cheese and cole slaw. The slaw had a different taste than what I am accustomed to, but nonetheless, tasty. Mac and cheese was a little runny as far as the cheesy texture, but again, it tasted good. The only complaint was the rib eye steak. It's hard to go wrong with a rib eye, but when it's over cooked, it's No Bueno. I ordered medium, but the steak came out medium well to well done. The flavor was alright, but the toughness of the meat made it hard to chew. The waiter said the kitchen usually gets the steaks on point with the temperature of the steak, but not his fault, the kitchen didn't cook it properly. Baked potato could use a lot more of the toppings, considering the size of the potato. There was only enough to cover half the potato. It was an OK experience. The exterior of the restaurant has outside seating that can accommodate large groups and has a nice vibe. We may be back to try some of the other dishes, just not steak.

Delicious food. The catfish platter was delicious. Drained perfectly, and the green beans tasted just like they're supposed to taste in Texas ( southern seasoning and love). Mashed potatoes were on point. My fiance Carlos enjoyed his meal and beer ?. If you like a country vibe you will love this Icehouse off Hempstead highway. Made me feel like I was in La Grange TX eating a great southern hospitality meal. We will be back soon. I am going to bring my mom and sister.
Good food , great atmosphere & pet friendly place outside! Large nice outside patio for eating if traveling with your pet '!!!

This place only gets three stars because the vibes on Saturday night with music was great. The food was mediocre. The barbecue plate was generic and over salty. The Mac and cheese was bland and comparable to frozen Mac and cheese. The wagyu burger with bleu cheese and caramelized onions wasn't bad. But the bleu cheese overpowered everything else. (If you like bleu cheese and caramelized onions, try out Jonathan's the Rub's burger, so balanced and incredible!) Servers were nice but hard to find. This place is open until 2am tonight and we were the only people left inside at around 10pm, but yet we couldn't find our server. I had to ask a hostess if we needed to pay up front. We sat there (clearly done with our food. It was already in a to go box. And it took probably 10 minutes for him to come back so I could order dessert. YALL. I ordered banana pudding. The flavor of the vanilla pudding was good but that was it. And I don't mean the rest was bad. I mean that was kinda it. There was a very thin line of...graham crackers? And then ZERO. I repeat. ZERO bananas. In banana pudding! This was my last straw. Between mediocre food, service you have to get up and track down, and a dessert that's missing the main ingredient, it's not worth the $75 we spent. If you wanna come here for drinks and some apps for the music definitely do! But don't come for the barbecue.
