While their English may not be the best, I wouldn't believe you if you said their food wasn't. I've visited 40 of the lower 48, lived in 5 states, and I honestly feel spoilt after eating here. I can't even compare it to another restaurant because the food is just so much better. Be patient with them, the food is worth it.

Small but mighty! The service was warm and the food VERY TASTY! Everything we ordered was done so well and the salsa bar is large and delicious. Will stop again on our way through Dalhart!

Service was poor and food was so so. No one sat us when we entered the restaurant and we asked another table and they said they got seated. We sat ourselves and then after a few minutes asked a waitress for a menu, she obviously spoke little English because a younger waitress came over who spoke English. No one offered us chips n salsa or explained. Chips were not made on site as there were bags of chips in the storage area you could clearly see from our table. so maybe we d I don't miss out. We ordered margs on the rocks all you could taste was salt and tequila. We both ordered fajitas. They were just ok. The steak had fatty parts and hard to chew. The Tortillas were ok and dry. Ordered a side of rice had to ask the waitress as she had forgotten. The rice ended up coming part way through eating my meal and was a small ramikin for 3 bucks. Yes, we are white eating in a Hispanic restaurant but should have received the same service as other tables.

They simply do not provide the service that they publish, they upload photos of the product and when you order and arrive at the place and they do not have the companions for the product and on top of that you have to serve the sauces yourself and you look ugly when you are serving yourself. It's my humble opinion.

The food was terrible. I ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was way over cooked and the flower tortillas had a funky taste to them. I couldn't even finish the dish. I went based on another person's recommendation. Wasn't impressed at all.

Tacos were good. Tamales were dry but meat in it was good. Tacos did not come with any toppings, luckily i had grabbed some from the salsa bar. Waited over 30 mins for food. They were packed beyond capacity. Usually a good thing but i was disappointed with the dry tamales

Passing thru Dalhart, stopped to grab Food before heading home to San Antonio. Left the place hungry, cause one taco is a (mini taco) they should specify that. Waiter never came back to our table after we were served to see if we were okay. Which was fine but don’t expect a tip, so the attitude handing me a reciept to sign cause you didn’t get a tip was unnecessary. But this place is not that great in food and service.

Denise, the front desk clerk at Holiday Inn Express, Dalhart, recommended La Cocina de Maria to us. The food was delicious, Authentic Mexican food, Huge portions and corn tortillas were homemade. Will be coming again next time we drive through Dalhart.
